Party time! 550 guests and 35 cars to uncover. My son and his girlfriend enjoyed the merc too Knowledgeable friends and owners of Merc´s were very attentive to details! The group of mad people suffering from the "mal del fierro", delivered very important recognitions
Outside the hall there was an exhibition of beautiful cars, here I show some of them and also some of the uncapped that night: Sponsors
Bravo! Felicidades estan en orden! Many beautiful cars on display there, Pacorro! Of them all...... I like your Merc the best! Best regards, Harry
Thanks Harry, and I appreciate that you like the merc and I recognize that true jewels in the show. In the 35 years of this club a merc 49-51 had never been uncovered! It is the first and a great effort and pride for me and the lovers of this car. A few years ago a Packard Darrin 1941 conv was uncovered. What madness of car! 1 of 6 in the world. But a merc never¡. It is not it's best pic but it is appreciated:
Chryslerfan55 Thank you for your undeserved praise, a lot of work from many friends in it and it seems that it was done well.
Graser 35 This Merc caused a lot of amazement at the party! There were real jewels there but these cars are not easy to find in Mexico. He was at the level of the best. I appreciate that you liked it.
Thanks hammer-time, I hope to have many years ahead to finish many sets of tires at the merc. I promise to roll to dizziness! A lot of work, effort and patience to rescue this wonderful iconic car.
Lot of nice cars for sure. Very impressive celebration. Hats off to all who belong. I like your Merc....
The Packard Darrin and the 1941 Packard 4 door convertible sedan that was on display Saturday are special cars, Pacarro. My Mom owned a 1937 12-cylinder Packard dual cowl phaeton. It had a custom body with extended rear passenger compartment and extra jump seats at the rear which could be unfolded for parades. There were only 3 identical to hers. President Roosevelt had one and the actress Deanna Durbin owned the other. Mom's Packard was black when she bought it. Dad said the only black car he would ride in was the one that took him to his grave. So he had it repainted red and a new white top fitted. Very much like this car except Mom's was longer at the rear...... Here is a video of a 1935 dual cowl phaeton which is similar to Mom's 1937...... In 1941, most Americans knew we would soon be in the war. The only question was when. So Mom sold her Packard in late 1941 and ordered a new 1942 Mercury club coupe. It arrived shortly before the sneak attack on Pearl Harbour which brought America into the war. I do not know if her Packard still exists. We have only the memories of it now and in the old suitcase with my Dad's military papers from the 1st World War, a photo of Dad driving the mayor of their town at the head of a parade in 1941. Best regards, Harry
Felicidades Pacorro, se ve que el festejo estuvo en grande, lo has de haber disfrutado mucho después de la presión de los días anteriores al evento. Ahora a disfrutar de ese bello Mercury.
straykatkustoms thanks for the welcome, the merc-fan family is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I have the merc since 2008 and always running everywhere. Endless hours of fun are coming¡
Enigma 57 the Packard is a glamorous car and your mom's car, spectacular without a doubt. A Packard that belonged to President Manuel Avila Camacho was exhibited at the event:
Gracias Postmx, Histórica noche, con muchos entusiastas de los autos antiguos de todo el país, hermosos autos se destaparon, disfrutamos momentos de relax con familiares y amigos, en fin: una noche inolvidable y como dices, ya hacía falta liberar tensión. Sigue la pura gozadera del merc¡
LSJUNIPER I hope you enjoy this thread, I tried to share my experience with this beautiful car since I bought it until the day it was "finished", I tried to apply everything I learned from so many gurus in H.A.M.B. and advice here and there, the result is my interpretation of a mild custom merc, I hope that the final result has its approval and is to your liking.
Fellas, do you think I can put some photos of the "Paco Blue" in the thread: KUSTOMS BLUES? I NEED TO SEE SOME KUSTOMS .... What do you think?
