Technical Colorizing old B&W drag pics

Not sure if I picked the right category. Anyway, I recently saw this somewhat famous pic colorized, and was wondering if the other pic, taken at the same time by a different guy was ever colorized? THX

 

I've never seen an colourised photos of that however I believe that the entire image needs to be done correctly before it looks authentic or period correct. To me it sort of looks doctored and not in tune with other photos of that era that have been colourised.

 

Damn. So is he running over oil pan shrapnel and frag' with the rear tire ... while the flywheel, crank, and whatever else, is still attached ... falls from the block ?!!! Do I see a piston, beneath the primary zoomie tube ?? Maybe another at the trailing front tire profile ? Dear Gawd' .. check out the lower blower belt, hanging on frigg'n' NUTHIN' !!

WOW. What else can one say ?

 

Am amateur colored version of the 2nd pic would be fine for my scrap book. Even if just certain details were colored, and not the background like the 1st pic I show.

I'll try with my limited computer graphics skills, I'm sure that there are others that could do better. Stand by for a repost

 

I wont' give up my day job, wait I'm retired. This is just on my PC with paint. Very amateurish, surely someone can jump in and make it look better than this!

Does anybody actually know what color this Simca was it may have just been done on a whim for someone that liked pink?

It still doesn't indicate exactly what colour it is apart from it being a custom mix. There was an article in Rodder's Journal, it may allude to colour? It's either a mauve or lilac colour?

You know what color puce is, right? Well it's real close to mauve.

 

Well, being red-green deficient, the car looks pinkish purple to me. That square of color posted above looks like Pepto Bismol .....

 

Usually see the blower flying up in the air rather than the crank blowing out the bottom. Probably gonna have to line bore that block before they can re-use it.

 

Funny how people need to put a name on a color. A while ago a friend is trying to sell me a car. I told him I really don't like tan cars at all! He says it's not tan, it's taupe. OH, well in that case I'll take it!!! LMAO
