I’m still cracking on my 61 Olds project. I’ve been tied up with work recently and just finished a trial yesterday, so last night I got back in the game. Finished up this fan shroud I’ve been working on and got it all installed. I also upgraded to a 6 blade fan. This will hopefully help cool this engine at slow idle in traffic.

New wheels and some numeric gauges are on the way. Once those all go in I think this project is just about wrapped up

  6. Yesterday I took pictures and listed my 55 ford 2 dr ranch wagon on facebook. Today I inflated the tires and drug it back about 20 ft and vacuumed it out. then hooked up a battery, filed the points and hung a lawnmower tank with chain saw gas in it from the hood. The 262 six fired right up & ran excellent. there is a guy coming later today to look at it. If it doesn't sell ive got a 62 T Bird 390 FE that I might get installed in it.

  8. gravely 006.JPG gravely 009.JPG gravely 009.JPG The days not over yet. I snaked some garden hose a couple hundred feet and hooked up my gas engine power washer. I gave the 55 ford wagon a good bath. every time I power wash it some more of that olive drab army paint someone brushed on it before we became the owners comes off. It was never sanded and the turquoise looks much better. afterwards I washed the moss and lichen from one side of the 60 Pontiac I bought Jan 1st this year.

  9. I am 76, and am envious of the amount of energy you have. My big thing is. getting my garage finished before winter, and having a warm place to work on my existing projects. I have a 425 hp Chevy, 428 FE, and various other big blocks that I would like to work on, so buying more engines is not an option for me.

Was headed over to the cafe to get some dinner and a neon orange sign caught my eye. It said "Man Sale". I wasnt in the market for a man but I saw a bunch of tools and such laying out. I stopped and scored these. The grill is a repop obviously and beat up a bit 20190801_183016.jpg 20190801_183053.jpg 20190801_183129.jpg but for $25 I thought it would make a good wall hanger. The land rover is off topic but I thought it was cool. The bag of rotolock discs was $10. Pretty good deal I thought.

  12. Hellava deal. I love those rotolock disks, and use them a lot. Saves a ton of time.

Bob, To tell you the truth I am not to sure about the energy thing. Some days it is a chore to get anything done. You don't have many years on me either, maybe I just have a lot of dreams and not much sense. As to the Hemi's, man they find me I am not really looking any more since I have 5 of the damn things. They are not the only engines in the shop either, I have two built BBC's and would like to find a home for them, just not to sure how many more cars I have in me. The Pontiac engine also has to find a place somewhere. I once a few years ago built a 1953 F100, converted it to 4 wheel drive and it was Pontiac powered. I have very fond memories of that truck and if I could find a good donor and a divorced transfer case I would do that again. Oh well time will tell...

I just cleaned the wheels and seats.

  16. Ah come on, it's fun having lots of dreams that don't make sense. What makes hotrodding so interesting, is that a lot of stuff that seems like a crazy dream actually does get done. It just takes a little longer.

  19. Is the $512.00 on the pad beside the bolt how much it cost you? :)
I know that feeling of triumph when you can get a bolt out without having to drill it out.

A stock 23 T came in the shop for a complete detail and I was paged to drive it out since no one else could drive it.

  22. I got royally screwed by UPS today, I found and bought this beautiful Mooneyham 8-71 (not growing on trees), anodized, stripped, new bearings and seals and UPS damaged it during delivery.
They just don't care how they handle your property or how hard it is to find this stuff, rotten bastards.

  24. I am sorry to learn that this happened to you. I hope that you can get it repaired so that it doesn't show.
At one time, I would not have shipped a bag of crap using UPS, but I have learned that the freight companies are equal opportunity destroyers.
I got one package this spring, that was so badly damaged that it was a miracle that the contents hadn't fallen out. Two sides of the box were literally broken wide open.
I don't know if it is the people or the machinery, but I was shipping a lot of oil products, and even double boxing didn't save the contents from damage. And forget about "this side up".

  25. Every shipper is capable of destroying your goods now. Its all about time and money to them. So now the onus is upon whoever packs the parcel. After working at the post office for 30 years I have seen how they treat parcels so when I ship something I try to imagine the worst treatment that it will get and I over pad, over box and over seal everything, even including an address label attached to the part in case the box is destroyed . If they destroy the box, your parts are never going to show up in any condition. No one cares anymore except you.

Yesterday, I have moved the LPG tank back 7 inches back, in order to fit my seats in my Chevy Panel truck.
Today, I have changed the waterpump of an OT car. Had to buy torx keys to work that modern stuff.
