Looks like a 41 Buick Special...although the notch seems deep. Is it side or rear hinged?

Maybe that notch was for an opening cowl vent?

1939_studebaker_president__by_supersport87_d3lcqxj-fullview.jpg The prow suggests 1938-41 Studebaker. The 1939 Studebaker President had a cowl vent in the right place, but did not have the central ridge. Also the holes in the front imply only a mascot or opening handle. The President model all had a chrome strip from to back. So maybe another Stude, or maybe I'm way off base!

I don't know....you might want to check your wild guesses by searching for pictures of the cars and see what they actually look like. Memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Here are some shots of the '41 Clipper. Close, but I think the Clipper's nose was more rounded than the hood shown. But it's hard to judge in 2D.

If I can figure out how to do it, I'll take a plan view of the end of mine. I consider the cowl vent cutout and beltline kickout to be unique.

Here is a picture of a '41-'47 Clipper hood for sale by Gately Restoration, who specialize in Cadillac and Packard.
I would suggest that 62SY4 was NOT making a wild guess, but knew exactly what he was talking about.
