I Love those guys (and the midgets)! A little crazy at the end, but some great driving before that.

Migets are my favorite, take time to view the Chili Bowl in Tulsa every January. It all indoors in the Oiler expo building never gets postponed because of weather. It almost a week long Starting with check in on Monday time trials and qualifying and the A main on Saturday night. It's the only racing at that time of year. NASCAR, open wheel drivers are all there. Google it and see some clips.

Milburn Stone is the announcer in the beginning, better know as Doc on Gunsmoke.
This clip is from the A&C feature Buck Privates Come Home.

Hooky film great old stunts. Love the real race car & track. Narrow hard tires on dirt with no wings. Wonder if they cried about aero push & not enough down force like today’s drivers

Never saw him hit the pressure pump in the whole eight minutes.

  10. Somebody modified the midget to accept a clutch. Midgets normally only run an in and out box. When you spin, the car stalls. The track in the film was Gilmore Stadium, well known for the movie stars and celebrities that came to see the weekly show.
