Good morning all. I'm trying to find more details on both the Potvin 3/8 and 400 Climax. I've searched on here and the Barn but can't find out the duration of either at 0.050". If anyone can post up full specs on both I would be grateful. Also is anyone out there still grinding these?
Might be wrong but I think your looking for a modern measurement. I don’t remember anyone doing @.050 in the time frame of the HAMB. You got “ advertised” duration which wasn’t always measured the same , hence the modern ish @.050 ( as well as advertised and the older 1/2 race 3/4 race etc)
I appreciate that it wasn't a measurement always used. But hopefully someone has measured an original or if someone is regrinding them they know the specs.
I'd be really surprised if that information exists anywhere. If you can find an old cam, new or used, you could measure it yourself....
Thanks Pete. Someone over here in the UK mentioned you are still grinding potvin cams. Are you still able to produce either of these?
Check out Tilden Technologies, They have a flathead cam chart on their website which includes several Potvin Cams. https://www.tildentechnologies.com/Cams/FlatheadPerformance.html
and a great job at doing it too Pete your da man.........................425 and loving it...............
