Got all the pieces for the grille cleaned up and painted. Pretty much installed, just waiting for a few bolts to come in. 66286805_149533469527751_7125889388797493248_o.jpg

Loaded up and took the purpose built Indy car to meet the builder of this car at his home, had a great time meeting Maynard Stump his wonderful wife and son. Got a great amount of information about building the car and why he did the things that he did, like cutting his own cam and running engine reverse rotation.Building many of his parts his self after work work at the family business, like always life, family and work comes first. We found Roger Ward wanted him as his crew chief in the 60's how cool, Great time ! DSCN3445.JPG DSCN3447.JPG DSCN3452.JPG DSCN3456.JPG

The missus and I took the newly nearly finished '37 Chevy out for a long drive to breakfast.

We put 60 miles on it bringing the total to 261 now. I'm beginning to get nearly a little maybe confident in my abilities My wife, on the other hand, always goes with a cell phone and a AAA card.

I put a hidden USB phone charging port up under the dash then went for a Sunday drive. The truck has 900+ miles on the completed build with a lot of cruising season left...

  8. Took the A over to my buddies house to see if we could get it on the lift and to do some recon in preparation for a trans swap. Eventhough it is a like for like swap it is not going to be as easy as I had hoped. This is the list of things that will probably cause me problems
E brake bracket bolts to top of trans so floor may need to come out access the bolts
Rear of engine needs to drop down to allow rearward movement of trans for removal, fuel pump stand to firewall clearance mak be an issue along with clearance around the accelerator cross shaft.
Lower Fan blades to radiator clearance once fuel pump stand clearance is addressed.
This 2 hour project could get really involved....lol

  10. Put together an auxiliary vacuum control line for my 25-year-old OT DD so that the air conditioner will blow cold air into the cab instead of defaulting to the defrost, which doesn't do diddly squat for keeping me cool. Now I can go back to working on the hotrod.

I put a lid on it. And had to straighten one of the mangled 1/4" thick bumper mounts so I could mount the bumper. That was a pain in the ass! 20190710_124405.jpg

For the last week, I have been working on an enclosed canopy for a Lakester, building latches, handles and other hardware. Today, with some help, I got the lexan windshield fitted and in place. Next, I will add a knob to the inside latch. Gotta hustle, Speedweek is 1 month away, see you there ! IMG_3158.JPG IMG_3162.JPG IMG_3171.JPG IMG_3176.JPG

Will the Clecos get replaced with screws & nuts, or rivets on the canopy?

I am using 6/32 countersunk, oval head stainless screws with lock nuts. I can't wait to see it with the protective layers removed, tomorrow.

  18. After many months of looking I finally found a non billet 8-71 blower (Mooneyham) to replace my 6-71 (GMC) on the 41 Chevy p/u, now to wait for it to arrive to see what I spent a bunch of money on. Screenshot_20190709-223041_Facebook.jpg

My neighbor, Steve, and I went to a fine car show in Appleton City, MO. A.C. is about 70 miles from here and we stopped in Archie, MO, for breakfast.

The show was well organized and had all manner of stuff to eat and was in a park setting. Very typical for a small town. I think there over 300 cars, trucks, and motorcycles were there and I probably should not gotten a second helping of apple cobbler with two scoops of ice cream

Got up early for a Sat. Rearranged the garage so I could fit the OT Turbocharged L% powered 65 &^%tang back in the garage that we are building for Rocky Mountain drag week. After that went to the shop and unwrapped my dropped axle from Sids, Looks awesome :D Had lunch with the guys . After that replaced the brake light switch on the 56, the new ones seem to last a year or so before the arm snaps off..Put the 350 hp 327 camino up on stands to run it tomorrow and check out the drivetrain. Good day in my book:cool:
