Customs help out a kiwi buy a 49 merc

hi folks , am interested in buying a 49 mercury out of Seattle , but as an overseas buyer , craigslist will not let me access the phone number ,
any chance a member could look this up on craigslist , and get the phone number so that I may call him about the vehicle ,

Sounds like you guys got the area code error all figured out. Seeing it in person is a very good idea, especially if you can make a vacation out of the trip

Probably a typo on the poster's part... 253-569 is considered as an Auburn phone number which could be correct for the area.

 

Area code 235 is for the Marshal Islands
Area code "235" is used to dial to the following cities:

• Marshall Islands - Kwajalein

Area code 253 would be right close to Enumclaw
I can't get the number to open with my laptop because my internet is too slow.
I know that car and think I have taken photos of it in the past and some PNW guys should know something about it. I can't open my photobucket to check though.

 

will try the 253 area code , hopefully not a scam , and am arriving on vacation in a couple of weeks ,so would check it out in person ,

Just checked the Craigslist post. The area code listed is 253 so probably not a scam

I'm still amazed that someone from the Tacoma Puyallup area hasn't chimed in.
The car isn't in my Billet proof at Chehalis photos Nor was it in any of my East/west flathead run photos. but I know I have seen it in the past but that may have been in the 90's. The guys who know every Merc in the PNW d on't do internet that I know of..

 

If I’m not mistaken ( and I might be) I saw this car at a show I went to in Westport Washington last year. I’ll need to look at the pictures I took.

looks like I have missed out , seller had sent a few more photos of under the car , but very blurry . could not make a decision based on the photos , was hoping it would still be available in 2 weeks time so that I could personally inspect it .
will just have to keep hunting .

 

well missed out on the 49 ,must have been a good one as sold in the first week , but looking at a 50 mercury out of New Jersey , photos make it look like a good car , but investigations seem to show that it has been on the market for aprox 1 year , which makes me suspicious as to why it has not sold . any one out there have any info on this one , before I make the drive from California to New Jersey , thanks again all for your help ...
