Great weekend. haven't been for probably 10 years, forgot how much fun it was. I tried REALLY HARD to buy this vintage 56 gasser but with no VIN tag and all the hoops they make you jump through at inspection for outta state cars in Nebraska, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Found this sweet little 64 Chevelle instead.

 

Kool Car ! Like 32's, Like Harleys, This car has to win the Unique award, Diversecity is the best part of our great hobby. Thank You for the pictures.

 

The Chevelle is nice but the Gasser is righteous!

 

It was really hard not to buy it, but I've got a friend who's a manager at the DMV and he said walk away. SUCKED!

 

Gary, I saw that 56. Super cool car. You coulda bought it and had me register and keep it here in Iowa....and visited whenever you wanted.
Sweet looking Chevelle....I still have the '65 convert I've had for 26 years.

Tried to say howdy right about where that 56 was but you and Brandy were high tailing it the other way!

 

Had to work in Indianapolis last Thursday so I jumped off the plane back to Vancouver on Friday in Minneapolis and a car show broke out. Second year, still over whelming .

I'd agree! Sadly, things have gone rather sideways for the trip home, which will end up needing a trailer from Grand Junction, CO to LA.

 

Our trip home was compromised by the failure of a rear axle bearing and (a day later) the AOD transmission, plus a heart attack. Luckily all were fixed and we got home by July 4. Many thanks to Derek (63 Biscuit) for encouraging us to come and for his hospitality while we were there. Here's one more photo of the car as we were leaving St.Paul:
