I might never get a chance to go there. but I am just happy there is a thread on here that's excited about vintage drag racing again!!! Larry

  4. Big news we have a makeup date for this fall. The dates will be September 27,28,29th. All three days will be for 1969 and older cars.
The tracks regular index classes will be effect with payouts.
There will be big block and small block f/x and gasser classes with payouts to the winners.
The event will not conflict with the fall out drags.
We are also thinking of doing a swap meet.

Well that sort of stinks. I realize you needed to set a date. That's the Southeast Gassers Knoxville race.
It's only an hour from my house. Should take away many of the SEGA cars. You might get some Texas cars.
I really appreciate the invite. Of course they run on Saturday. Can you come for just Sunday?
Do you need to preregister? If I go out first round in Knoxville ,we could load up and head that way.
    Entry fee's ?

  7. You can come for one day or all three. Pre registration is not needed. The money rounds will be held on Sunday.
Entry fees are 10 dollars to get in and run the car for fun. A extra 10 dollars gets you in the money program that's based on a index run heads up.
The fx and gasser class money program will be 10 dollars to get in the gate and 20 dollars to run for the money.
Still very cheap by today's standards.

  8. If you do a swap meet. It think it should be limited to auto related items only.

  9. Yes a automotive parts swap meet. It wont be a rummage sale.

Good deal then. Maybe you can catch some of the guys on their way home if they live west . Headed for Mo. Should I go out early , my wife said a road trip sounded like fun.
    Maybe we can make it.

  14. Yes. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Miss matched engine and body combos are era correct. They did it back in the day two popular well known examples would be the holy Toledo jeep and the Brutus gto with a 392 hemi.

Well you might have noticed this video has been shut down. It was done by Urban Hillbilly himself giving me a strike with youtube! What a moron. I gave him full credit and and even linked to the full video. Probably the only reason the original video has had any action lately. The stupid part is I spoke with him in person and told him what I was doing. Unfortunately for me he was too stoned to remember the conversation.

Glad to hear that you are still involved with the event Bryan. I am hoping I can make it to this.

  27. The deal is we got a promoter involved. It was full speed ahead then he pulled out do to not having enough time to promote the race. Tyler has decided to have the event any way going it alone. The promoter will be involved with next memorial day race. So everyone it's on. Come out and have fun. George Ray's is a special place. Once this event gets off the ground it will be The event to attend.
