Took the day off work. Very nice day today. Finished up some small electrical projects on the truck. Wired up my new heater, finished up horn install and finally fixed the hi beam indicator that burned out the first time I used it several years ago. For lunch I ate the leftover Stromboli that Mrs M made the other night. Back out for some more piddling on the truck, then went for a little drive on country roads. Yes, a very nice day indeed.

Pulled the 377 off the engine stand and put it on the cradle so I can take it to the shop and run it on the test stand next week. Getting ready to go to Price Trucking - Lyons museum show tomorrow.

Not much. Worked getting my trans out by getting the engine ready to pull out,
with the trans attached. Elsewhere on here Ii have a thread explaining why. I finished removing wires, and the intake and engineered the harness for lifting the Hemi and trans together. Hope to have it out this weekend to see how much damage is done to the 727.

Went to a small static car show this morning. Mostly OT cars. But it was at a home for old folks, nice to see them out walking or scootering around.

Took the old hot rod out for a ride. Local Tobacco farm knocked down a bunch of shade tobacco barns, sad.

  12. I mowed the yard, cleaned up some estate sale finds, $5 bucks for the 10 inch Superior wheel, $25 for the working oscillating art deco fan and pulled the intake manifold off the blower motor which was a royal pain in the rear.
I'm whipped to say the least, knee is swollen, back is aching and never even fired up the t-bucket after changing the plugs last night....ugh

I changed the headlights on the wife's road missile. I got tired of polishing them.

I ran into my 7th grade (1973-1974) Industrial Arts teacher. I let him know that his class influenced the path I took in life, both personally and professionally. He spoke with pride of other students that found success by working with their hands, and the sense of satisfaction it gave him. It was really good to see him again after all these years...

I've had a really good week, got things in order, and have things lined up for the future, I can notice a difference, and it is a lot better. It started off with out 41st Anniversary and things just got better with every passing day. Today I went out to the garage and attacked the back wall that had a lot of rot and needed to be framed for a new window and door. I've had everything I need for this project for well over a year maybe two the way time flies. Found every tool I needed and all the 2x4's and nails, only thing still hiding is my 4 foot level, think there is a sag over the window opening, may have to plate the header. This is a win, win, project gets done and the window, door and related lumber is off the floor and in place, more room! Photos when I'm done. Bob

I got an ironhead Sportster back on the road that seized up on a hot day last summer. Rear piston scuffed, bore still smooth. Scraped and polished the piston, honed the barrels a little looser and put the same old rings back in. Runs great, we'll see how long. Then I started one of my old BSAs hadn't been started for 2 years. One kick, but no witnesses. Finished up the day by greasing the auto locking front hubs on the daily beater/shop tug. Then, just now, I might have found a spare trans for my 50 Ford!

I tapped my hemi crank for 1/2" bolts then clearanced the flywheel for ARP bolts, I had to get this done before I can send the rotating assembly out for balancing. I took the pic before I had them all tapped. 002.JPG 001.JPG

I ran out of 2x4's, but found my level! Back to cleaning and organizing. This was a good day, even cut an fit a curved rake board for the back of the house that the Carpenter Bees destroyed.

  26. Wet day been getting a few thunderstorms. The sign is right for transplanting. Went over to our other place and pulled up about 100 small cedar sprouts. took them and planted them 2 ft apart in a fence row. Ive already got Osage Orange , Hawthorn & False Orange growing there. I wanted the cedar because they stay green all year long and will add privacy when they grow up. eventually I will have a 6 ft wide hedge row all around the property line.
