Well it's been quite a saga good to see it is almost ready to spread some SMILES and miles.

I just read the whole thread and damn what a roller-coaster ride. You had & have a tremendous amount of patience and perseverance.
Be careful of that foam in those Edelbrock air cleaners. If it's the same shit they used back in the 80's, that crap goes up in an instant when it's flamed.

  5. Well, that is awesome that you kicked butt and made it to the car show . . . job well done. There is nothing like taking a car down the road for the first time - makes all the time, money and aggravation worth it! Happy Father's Day to all!

You gotta find/buy a real Hilborn scoop..!
Do what ever modifications required to make it fit with the two AFB's

  9. A "real" Hilborn 4 port scoop is way too narrow to actually fit the top of any modern 4 barrel carb - regardless of the amount of hacking and welding you do. The original butterfly sizes were 2 3/8 for the small one and 3" for the larger one. About the closest "looking" thing you can get is by Mr. Gasket - designed for two 4 barrels.

Do you not like the old 1961-64 style moon scoop? The car was built between 60-63. And every hot rod mag I’ve seen has those in them. Plus I like the two piece weird setup it is. But hey. To each their own. That’s what makes this hot rodding

  11. Damn. Stopped following, because I'm not here to get kicked in the balls, or to kick balls vice versa. Man ... f#cking roller coaster is right. Unbelievable.

You have more constitution than anyone I've ever known. Am happy things are working out for you ... but I'll bet most of us, would not have the same outcome. A horror story with no happy ending.

How in the hell, you changed the story ... I'm amazed. Good for you.

I was lucky enough to be in Yakima this year with the 34. This is the run my mom got sick at last year and passed away shortly after. The 34 that got me started on wanting one was there. And I got to cruise around with him. Truly was a blessing. 0F53A496-BBB1-41AB-AB89-FCDD7EEBC8A7.jpeg

It's really awesome opening up this thread knowing that the worst is behind you, you can confidently move forward and we couldn't be happier for you...those seats look fantastic indeed...what a compliment to the Rocker of a Hotrod...

Great to see the car out and about. Mixed emotions I bet at that meet with the memories of your Mom.

A great turnaround after all the setbacks. Keep up the good work.

A Great end to a Very frustrating (to say the least) story! I'm sure you had mixed emotions being at that show, but now you can have a Great memory to go along with it. Enjoy, Carp.

  21. Not many stories that start this way, end this way . . . so happy to see you out and about with a fine and bad-ass HotRod! Way to go!

Sorry about your mom, we only get one of those and I lost mine a few weeks ago as well.

post up a better pic of the flake on that vinyl, I am trying to convince my wife on some and she is not amused.

Stay the course, you off all of us in here know that drill. Hope to meet you someday at a local event.

Love this car. Normally to remove a hot olds motor from an old hot rod would sacrilege. Even stupidity. But in this case the replacement is a bonus. Love this car.
