Bought this little gem of a 66 c10 a few months ago. 77,058 miles, 283. 3 speed , 3.73 gears, tinted glass & gauge cluster. build sheet intact. Been driving by it sitting under a lean to shed since a teen in late 80s. I mixed the paint for it in mid 80s. Orig California truck “still has some of the smog stuff on the 283”. came here with owner in late 70s , after sitting 32 years got it fired right up with a filing of the points & a hose running into a fuel can. 7 steam cleanings & many pressure washing sessions later it’s coming right along for its 15 year old gear head to drive while he builds his 65 c10 . I Couldn’t be happier. Flux A5CCB978-D312-45DE-B475-0AD6F2DFF9C1.jpeg

I finally took the old worn out original seat out. I installed some buddy bucket replica's, they are very comfortable seats. It definitely made for a pleasant long distance ride on July the 4th.

Man these trucks are still working, came across a gutter maintainance guy today with a 66 Suburban (custom model), it was originally a 327 truck but now has a 350 in it, he says he wishes it still had the 327 in it, said it just isn't the same with the later engine.
It had four big ladders on the roof rack and inside were a big power washer, tools, etc.
He said he's had it twenty years and the guy he bought it from used it twenty years also.
    Sorry, no photos.

Been thinkin I want another one of these lately, Ive had a couple old stepsides in the past, one of em was a daily for a good little while, Dad had a black and white long wide bed for a long time and another light green knee knocker short wide bed for a bit when I was a kid.....Im generally a short bed chevy guy but wouldnt care to have a long bed this time..depends on what comes along, I have saw a few recently with some patina etc. with not too bad of a price on em, especially compared to a lot of other stuff out there in this era, these days.

If you win the lottery and want a project I have just what you want, a 66 Suburban.
    Hope it's the Powerball!

  27. Was that the benefit show at the school. I didn't make it. I had agreed to help with a yard sale at the Arc to help my grandaughter. Then got roped into moving furniture all day. Oh my bones

My `63 as I bought it.
Half-assed, overly Bondo'd body work has since shown itself thru the pretty paint while I've used it as a daily hauling gravel and topsoil and towing rented backhoes doing house projects that get in the way of shop time.

    Bump
    It's been a month guys.

  30. I have the frame for my 64 staged and am trying to wrap up some small stuff. My deadline is to have the frame in the shop by Dec 1 then start swapping axle and front member over to 5 lug, weld up all extra holes and metal finish. Then send it to powder coat.
