Not a hater. I learned to drive in Dad's '59 Ply baby blue wagon. I was a push button terror. Got stopped 12 times in my first year of driving. Only got warnings, not one written ticket. Cops were nicer to young kids in the '60's. Lots of memories, going hunting and sleeping in the back, Dad snored. One night a buddy was messing with his Trojan and ended up stuffing the foil package in the radio dial. On a trip Mom says,"what's this?" and pulls it out. I was mortified. After a '51 Ford I graduated to '57 Chevys.

Thanks for finding that Mart, I was sure it was the same guys. At the Electro-Motive Div. even a Superintendent and above drove a company car, although only the executives got to park in the garage and no doubt it was the same at all GM plants. For the non-exec's they got a different vehicle every three months and when it was was turned in they had to critique it in detail. Free car, insurance and a gas card, not a bad deal for a bit of writing. No doubt it was the same for the executives but they got the better vehicles, no "soccer mom vans" for them.
We built locomotives at the plant I worked at and I saw just about everything from Corvettes to compact cars, vans, and loaded Suburbans. In the eighties they began a program where a portion of those vehicles went to our factory lot and you could "tag" a vehicle for purchase, there were some low mileage great deals and I scored more than one back then.

    A drive through 1940's L.A..
Lots of spotlights and skirts. And dig the L.A. smog!

Look for the puff of smoke from the Packard cab, then watch for the Hi-Boy roadster cresting the hill on the right. Nice white-walled roadster at 2:25.

Why I hate Pinterest, it's like they take ownership of everything uploaded to the site.
