You just have to get creative and build out a panel body. I know, easier said than done.

The matching color wheels set really compliment the truck quite well . Mmmm maybe I will add a few years onto my search.

56 dodge 1/2 ton... Drive this old gal everywhere... still on leaves on all 4 corners... All the chassis swap stuff and clips done in this world, I wanted to keep things a bit more original and it rides better than everyone I know M2 setups for sure.

Not that I don't like pick-ups,I do like there styles. But never owned a pickup, always owned a used station wagon, for my car/tow an mover,of family ,shop and race car stuff, combo with my open homemade trailer for my race car. Started with a used 57 Ford 2d wagon in 64,and kept on buying used wagons{17 of them I used up,now on my 18th.}. Wagons got better MPG and can lock up tools an stuff, plus campout in if needed. Other then wagons,I did try 2 vans, Chevy G20s,nether releible, both MPG sucked<aero as a brick.

Your words are true. I have kicked around a early Econoline , Dodge or Chevy van but I was more leaning to the idea of a shop truck and probably build a cap that flowed with silhouette of what ever the truck is. You know , along the body lines of the cab, hood or fenders.

  11. A pic of my 56 big window from several years ago. Sold it to raise funds when my current 32 sedan became available. Not so sure it was worth it. IMG_1300.JPG IMG_1292.JPG

I get asked a lot if I converted it. 1965 GMC K10 V6 three speed when I got it. Only things still original on it are the frame (short 1 ton) and the Rockwell divorced transfer case. Yes 4x4.

Okay thanks. You said originally 4x4 so I just wanted to clarify.

It was a cool little truck... I did a '85 crossmember swap with 2" drop spindles and 2" lower coil springs. Installed a '68 250 inline and S10 T5 trans and dropped the rear with '94 Jeep Wrangler rear coils.

Ya ..I don't get that either. There's a early 50's Chevy pu that has been running around my area that is done like that. I understand the idea of driving a rig around that is as found if it is actually for real "Patina" ,natural wear spots, and not fake painted on stuff or just sanded down and repainted a few times then sanded some more to resemble paint layers or just sanded to bare metal then let rust...but then to clear coat it to make it look shiny then ad brightly painted wheels ,with no distressing at all, just don't get it.
