If this was taken in the mid 70's they would have been standing in front of the unemployment office. A real hot spot in the winter at South Lake Tahoe.
Across the street to the right of the Bijou Center would be Heidi's Waffle Shop.
Also, I've posted before that my brother-inlaw's 56 F100 was stolen from that Shell station and never recovered.
I met the woman I'm presently married to there in South Lake Tahoe in 1977.

The image of the A-1 has been taken down, probably because it had been copied from Pinterest by the poster. Yes, there was a large, white fuel tank but under the right wing were three bombs and a white porcelain toilet bowl that was hung with a homemade bracket that looked to be channel iron.
That was the reason for my “unusual armament” comment.
