Should be a bolt on, as the '28-'29 coupe, special coupe and sport coupe started life as almost identical bodies... some interior brackets [wood] are model specific... bought a pair of roof quarters at a swap meet couple years ago... they are out there... toughie will be the roof to quarter molding... go M go...
Might in fact be a bolt-on, but the issue I had was not being able to find the pieces. Ended up starting with the back section of tudor sedan followed by fabricating the belt mounding strip using some flat iron. Not fun, not fast, but do-able for the average joe like myself that doesn't have a lot of fancy tools.
I see you made your own roof to quarter molding... good stuff... but for the interested ; try '30-'31 one ton AA truck cowlbands, made of steel not stainless... the radius is a very close match to the quarter's... the leading edge is narrower than the rear of the band... handy as the roof will be narrower than the quarter tops... weld anchor bolts across the back and nuts around the corners and sides... the C Bs are not long enough to span the rear of the cockpit... you will need 2... but bands with 3" rusted off the bottom are just what you need...
same but different. mine was a special coupe with the special coupe bits beyond rescue, so made the rear roof section as close as I could from 19gauge steel swaged a strip and stretched and shrunk it into submission I wasnt worried about originality, more saving an unwanted body so I welded the top and bottom together . I think the original is actually bolted on ? I haven't got round to making the rear window aperture yet. Ive been looking for a donor part from the likes of a sedan to graft in but no luck s far . Might have to get around to making some tooling when I find time ..
This was a special coupe and I put a UP 32 5W roof retaining the special coupe belt line piece. Only reason I did this was because I couldn’t find standard panels to bolt on which would have been much less time consuming.
This one is homemade from a bugeye sprite top bows and cutting, stiching and dyeing some bimini top fabric. But it was Hard to make. Just to keep the breeze off my neck. Guess I could fiberglas it. RB

This is technically a hardtop like the Sport Coupe @Retson the Racer posted and they actually take the shape of the canvas tops they replaced... Yes I think more should exploit the Uniqueness of the Sport Coupe...and yes I didn't build it but am quite proud of it...
Not mine but a mates 29 Coupe. But I lent a lot of my own coupe parts so he could repair it including the quarter panels, cowl, seat frame and even my deep throat shrinker/stretcher so he could shape up the centre roof section. The rear window was made up from the discarded door frames from the doors that the previous owner had capped. The center panel itself was made from a roof skin from a late model sedan.
Here's my '29 Sport Coupe. I plan on making a detachable cloth top for it eventually. I just want to get it running and driving first.
