Sure would be helpful to have some pics of the pieces needed and the actual install of the conversion. Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
See these threads on the HAMB and Ford Barn: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1932-trunk-hinge.1114115/ https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248341 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257009 All of the parts needed for the conversion are available as repops from the typical old Ford vendors.
Hey koolbeans, i made the conversion from trunk to rumble. Unfortunatley we live not closer, we could swap Parts. You will need the strikeranel where the latch is mounted. Latch, hinges and lidsupport. Drill the holes.... bolt together, you may need to shirt the hinges to fit nice......and your done. If you need i can send you pics tonight.
Koolbeans, i didn't take pics, from bevore conversion from trunklid installation , but for now here is the latch-panel that was bolted in. When i go to the shop today i will take pics from the hinges, handle and lid. If you post some pics of your Lid i can tell what is missing on yours.
Here a sideview where the hinges where fixed to the trunklid and below the corresponding hole and fixingscrews. I made the bracket on the lid for the 3 Window rumblelatch , so this is not needed for the trunk. The rubber bumper is moved to the trunklatch panel on the rear.
Yours are best pics. Have I hope the parts coming. Will keep you posted. Few up dates...pedals, rockers for rear coilovers, front end scaled, wood patterns for flooring...plugging away..jim Sent from my XT1710-02 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
rumble seats are cooler, you can literally bring your buddies to the rumble! they sit over the rumble of your exhaust! idk, i always get excited when i see the handle at the top and the step pads
@ Jim, your progess is fast and looks good, nice enineering on the coilovers, thanks for sharing. My plywood boards are rubbing and squeaking, give them enough air and something between to glide...... just my two cents, but i'm sure you concidered that alredy. @ Oliver: No handle, no steppad, but old boat seat as rumble very spartanic and low weight. took this pic last week, no Photoshop but old camera with film b/w. This way you can't tell when the rumble is closed.
Oldbanger71, missed this .... brain fried...good thought on anti squeek...rekon there are gonna be lots of squeeks...back in the day used 3M strip seal between panels and floor joints for sealing and cushion. Trick to working the stuff was to put it in the refrigerator...it hardens up, you can split it easy with razor into smaller strips, and with it firm it applies lots easier.
