Great find. Good looking car. Glad to see you're keeping it pretty much as built. I built mine 1971/72, then in 74 life got in the way, it sat for 33 years. In 2007 I got a wild hair and put it back on the road.

  3. i have one of those chevy master cylinders rebuilt, ready to go. if you need it, let me know. (its cheap too)

yep...will get around to that on the final tweaking...I can't believe the plug wires still function...and we are only running on one set of points...new points and carb kits are on order...in the meantime I'll keep going after the roof wood...

yep...we adjusted the valves cold before we fired it up...now we will adjust them warm and get rid of that lifter tap...there may be a slight exhaust leak as well...I chose not to run exhaust manifold gaskets...still some tweaking to do,but yea...It's alive!!

Really neat car! Roman Red? Are these the same color? 59 Corvette color? Can our cars go out and play together? B6C35ECE-F136-4AF8-91E5-AD05D0DD747E.jpeg 548C1C72-B16C-4AB8-AE55-9B8A3A8D4B4C.jpeg

Thought I would update the progress...things are going well ...we are making progress, although it's been slow...motor all dialed in now, as well as the clutch, shifting linkage and trans...now we are working on pedals and brakes..had to replace all brake lines, wheel cylinders as well as master...need to add one more brake line in the front, then finish bleeding and adjusting, then back on it's wheels...interior is out and in the process of getting an overhaul...installed new roof wood...as soon as I can pull it up on a trailer it will go to the trimmer to finish the interior...getting excited about that first trip around the block!! I remember this car when it was on the magazine cover, I was chopping my '29 at the time. It looked so good in the photo, was it just thrown together, or had a real hard life later on? Bob

Bob...was this sedan on a magazine cover back in the day?...it hasn't been on the road since 1966...sat in a makeshift carport/leento I was told by the seller who know the owner from 1962...I know it was sold in HotRod Magazine in 1962,but I didn't realize that it had been a cover car...I would like to see that magazine...do you know the year?..I can hunt it down

SORRY! :oops:I got this car confused with the other red one that was on Street Rodder in the 1980's that was found last year. It got cleaned up for the GNRS. Carry on with the overhaul. Bob

ok...there is one that I have on a 1963 HRM cover, they look very similar, but they are for sure not the same car...I think Red was quite popular for hot rods back then

Interesting. At the moment, I would really have to be persuaded. A 32-34 anything, even 4 door, could possibly, maybe do it.
