Event Coverage Upcoming Chop Classes and Metalworking Classes... NATIONWIDE!

As some of you know, I've been putting on a few classes here and there, focusing on the process of chopping a top on a '41-51 Ford or '49-54 Chevy. These classes are intended to teach students the basics of chopping a top, and they emphasize the importance of good design, flow, and metalworking techniques to make the job easier. I also do metalworking demonstrations and each participant gets to make a mini-project to take home with them.

The purpose of this class is three-fold. First, it is to give participants confidence in metalworking and fabrication. Secondly, it is to refine their sense of design and understanding of good design. Thirdly, we have a lot of fun!

The exciting news is that there are A LOT of new dates being added in locations all across the country, so if you're interested in taking one of these classes (some classes I GIVE AWAY the car that we chop in class) there is a better chance that I have a class coming up near you!

the one in Florence sounded pretty good until I saw it was last weekend.

 

I'll have another in Florence next year. The next closest one will be Cheyenne, WY. Keep an eye out!

 

how many inches did you take out of the grey ford sedan.

 

5" out of the A pillar, not sure how much in the back, I just use my eyeball and make sure it's even from side to side.

 

I might have to sign up for the Jonesboro class. If for no other reason then to heckle you from the crowd.

It won't be easy to teach this engineer how to do things with out a tape measure.

 

Adam that'd be great! We definitely use a tape measure for the initial cuts, and when we settle the roof back into place. It's gotta be the same from side to side! You wouldn't be the first engineer to take the class!
