Hot Rods Roadster Identification

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 51cliff, May 28, 2019.

  1. Hi
I am trying to identify the roadster in the pictures It is about 1932 Ford size, has a rumble seat and vents in the cowl sides. Currently sits on a late 30’s truck frame. Original dash has been torched out (now has 3/16" plate welded in with gauge holes). I don't have a whole lot of info on it, neither did the seller. Anyone familiar with this body?

Lol. One hefty frame. Looks like a cool hot rod in the making. Mount your seat where your sitting and it looks like your legs will be comfortable.

  9. Ok thank you

  10. Ha, it sure is a large frame, will need modifying or swapping out to get the look i'm after. That's my son in the car who is 6' 3" so yeah that is a consideration but there is plenty of leg room!

  11. It is quite a large car, lots of room inside

That's probably not the original frame but the body sure has nice lines.

  14. Yeah, think you could be right Anthony

  15. I'm told its a '38 Ford truck frame. It will either be modified or replaced. Yeah think the body has potential

  16. Thats the plan clem

The more times I look at your pics the more and more I like it. It's sort of refreshing to see a roadster with that much room and the body lines and rear fenders just give it a great looking character .

  18. Saw it at a swap meet and it just looked right as it sat, though it will get some mods of course, the frame especially

That would look good on a modified Deuce gram. Probably have to widen the frame to fit.

  20. the belt line looks like 31 Chrysler
the 2 small side doors look 30 Chrysler ish
Desoto also had those 2 small side vents
its hard to tell cause almost all the pics you look up these cars have dual side mount spares
yours has the holes for those
a lot of chrystlers had 2 vent/doors on top of the cowl in front of the windshield
has anything been filled there? do the side vents look like they were born there?

  21. Yes Raven, they are my thoughts possibly using a 32 frame

  22. Anthony the side vents are factory. Not sure on cowl will have to check as there was some bonds on top of the cowl which could be hiding something I guess
