With the engine assembled and no sparkplugs , the engine should not exceed 35-40 ftlbs torque applied to the crank bolt to spin it over. This is with rods, pistons, rings, the rope seal, and the crank pulley instaled.

Just use the hand crank !:DIf you have trouble with that , assist the hand crank with the starter motor!

    Transport to S.F. Bay Area
I will be pulling an available 16' 7000# open trailer from the Nashville area to Bonneville (Salt Lake City) and down into the San Francisco bay area, leaving early Aug. Could bring out someone's car or ?, if interested please contact me, Steve at seven o seven 4 eight o four 6 zero 6 west coast time till June 1st, after that date same number but Nashville time. Trailer on return will have a rolling chassis, 2 or 3 bangers and misc. items, I will have room for other parts, if we can squeeze them into and around my stuff. If interested and want to discuss contact me at the above number, I will not respond to emails until we talk. My return trip maybe right from El Mirage in mid Sept. if the car is still together from Bonneville, if not may leave closer to the first of the month.

Starter..starter cables..are you running a ground strap to the transmission /engine? Ford used the engine splash pans as a ground path.Without them you should run a heavy gauge ground directly to the engine/trans,the clamshell, ujoint and motor mounts are a bad path to ground..

Car starts fine right now on stock starter and stock head. Got good grounds and power threw out. Big wire. New battery.

Railcarmover-I didn't think about the splash pans being another ground, makes sense!
