Here are a few more, mainly courtesy of my mate Dennis Doubleday.

The next two are from Bristol

The initial version of Adkins and Hardcastle's Stinger

And these are all from the U S Nationals at Indy with most appearing to be from class run offs apart from the shot with the Fiat which would be from Competition eliminator

    I'd say a Kaiser Darrin.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. If you look at the front fender it says "Dare N".

You're not trying hard enough. I was a machinist (aircraft tool & die) and welder for 25 years before I changed trades and went into being an A&P mechanic specializing in vintage restoration and maintenance for 20 years before I retired. Still welding, playing with hotrods and building cigar box guitars for fun. Medical issues caused an early retirement, but I still tinker when I can.

Besides the lettering on the fender if you ever saw one, there isn't anything else that looks like a Kaiser Darren.

i hear you, keep it going your way. i lost most of the vision in my right eye while i was in the navy. my eyes are bad enough that i have a hard time reading the comments on the board. even when i expand the pic i still can't make it out. i knew the front end when i saw it but just couldn't put a finger on it. they are a little ahead of my time (58 yo) but i'm a gear head from birth.

Roger that 26Troadster, I made #73 this year. I'm moving a bit slower these days, but my eyes still work well with corrective lenses. Been tinkering with things ever since I could wrap my fingers around a wrench. I've gotten to the point that the new stuff doesn't generate any interest, but old cars bring a smile and I still like carburetors and points and condenser ignitions.

^^ The first photo of Doris is great. I won't say I like everything she acted in but I feel
she was a very good actress, and certainly a good singer. Ya gotta love her smile.
"Xfinity" ran a very nice and respectful article on her yesterday. She didn't have an easy
    life.

The photos of Cobras had me start a search in my home for the items below. When I
was 14 I wrote to Ford about the then new Cobra. In return I received the letter, the
spec sheet and a b&w 8x10 of two roadsters on the banking at Daytona. The photo
is framed and on the wall in my inner sanctum. I hope you can make out the list price.
In 1974 a co-worker bought a Cobra for $5,000 and it hadn't been babied. At the same
time I paid $3,500 for my '69 Corvette. Of course I thought I got the better deal.

  20. Great pic, loudbang- makes me wonder if the owner stuck a license plate in the rear window and drove that Cheetah to the track :D!!!

Many moons ago, I helped him push the Cro Sal Cheetah up a little rise to his paddock space at the vintage race at Sears Point. He was real nice and spent about a half hour talking with me. This originally as a coupe, and Ralph Salyer had the top cut off because he would almost bake inside the car. He told me that it was the only one made into a roadster.

A couple of top end drag strip photos from the web. The Cheetah shot appears to be from the Winternationals at Pomona with Fairplex Drive on the other side of the tarped over chainlink fence in the background while the Kellison sure looks to be at the far end of Beech Bend in the vicinity of the scales.

The track looks as if it may be the now defunct Ravenswood facility which was south of Perth in Western Australia. I don't remember the car but we only raced there once as our home track was about 1700 miles east.
