Corvair power? That’s crazy! Somebody should buy it and put it on an S-10 frame.

HA! That's in Highland Illinois! I lived there in '62-'63 as a kid. Dad worked at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis at the time. He raced his '51 Ford Crestliner every weekend at the dirt circle track in Highland.
But, back to topic... Not my cup of tea either.

I like different and custom but holy moly. But I am really trying hard to appreciate the work and creativity  . Apparently the builder didn't say no to drugs or beer.

I see the start of a legit Hot Rod... IF it could be had for somewhere around half the $9500 asking price. I'd love to see that poor thing roll down the road with a Hot Rod chassis under it.

Somewhere there's a guy with a Deuce frame, a dropped axle and a set of wheels in his garage and he's shopping for a 32-34 cab.....then he probably has to go through "title my car gauntlet hell".

Solid 32-34 cab w/doors go for around 3-4 grand.
There's a grille and shell, fenders, headlights and bar. Glass rear fenders, somewhat decent bed. Needs a set of boards, splash pan, etc. Easy enough.

There's a lot we don't know about the truck. Is the body real solid or is it cobbled patch panels and full of mud? The "$3500 in new parts". Other than the regulators, glass, handles, etc. what else is included but is not pictured? Dash, column, wheel, gauges, etc? The guy may have ran up the credit card with Bob Drake or Speedway and all that stuff goes with it.

Most times I've gone to look at project cars, the seller starts pulling out boxes of parts new and used that go with the car. This is stuff that many times isn't pictured or listed in the ad. Sometimes the pile is pretty impressive to include extra sheet metal, rechromed and repro parts, full sets of weatherstripping, suspension rebuild kits, etc. All that stuff adds up quick and can really sweeten the deal.

Says it's titled, but that VIN listed (VIN: BB5142394) doesn't look 32 or Corvair. Maybe special construction? If it is titled as a 32, that's a huge plus and really adds some value.

I’ll agree, half of asking price then a complete new chassis etc. Then stuff a hemi in it.

  21. The serial number looks like July 1932 (see
http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ABenginenumbers.htm#C1) for a "Big" (heavy commercial), 4 cylinder, truck. The number/title may have come with the cab (or maybe he just bought it somewhere) but should have come with the frame. Since it is not the original frame I would expect problems. There is not much I would use from that project.

It would look cool with my golf clubs strapped in what use to be the engine bay.

  28. '70s rod probably only using a vair mill and a steel body as opposed to being a Volks Rod.

Yes someone needs to own it and un-screw it up. It would be work but doable.

even the cab, sheet metal will need serious work before being used for another project - a lot of $$ & time wasted - best that seller parts it out & eat the loss - but, someone somewhere will think it is Cool & can say that they own a one of a kind '32
