On a journey through the country to look at some old car parts stopped in at Lucky's Restaurant in Edina Missouri for a tenderloin, I mean half of a hog LOL. Man it was good, ate 1/5 of it and was full.....Have 4 hunks left for the weekend!;) Saw some cool 34 thru 36 ford coupe and truck parts. Tweking 20190510_185403.jpg 20190510_185415.jpg 20190510_185431.jpg 20190510_190839.jpg 20190510_190824.jpg and cleaning and straightening on the 54 Chevy shop truck firewall, now it's already to be welded up and sealed and primered. Will put new holes in as needed....

Took a helmet distributer off a flathead, tore it apart, cleaned, rebuilt, lubed, and replaced it. Started and ran perfect thank goodness.

  9. Got up a daybreak and took my wrecker and a wad of cash and drove over a 100 miles to a estate auction. Went to get a bidders number and there was a big sign. 10% buyers fee. Turned on my heel and went back home. I aint about to pay a friggin buyers fee. And they didnt state anything about a buyers fee on the advertizment on the Aiction Zip website.

Took in the swap meet in Tappen at the home of the famous Rust Bros and Canadian Hot Rods Inc (build after market frames) A ton of people there and they were shooting for the TV show during the event. Some good cars showed up as well.

That was a topic of conversation today Charles:D

  17. Yes it should be illegal. Because if the auction company is charging the seller a commission and then charges the successful bidder a buyer fee. That creates a dual agency. No representative can equally work for two opposing partys at the same time. Its simply greed. In a estate auction they are already getting 20% of a persons lifes accumulation and to ask a additonal 10% is immoral!

  18. That black ford sedan is the kind of mild custom I really like. not over done and a lot of gaudy chrome!

Barret-Jackson and Mecum and I am sure several others do it and get away with it. I can see a percentage going from the seller to the auctioneer as the auctioneer has expenses but I'm damned if I understand why the buyer would have to pay as well.

So very true! Whenever I see a deal taken advantage of, I walk away too. I am not a fan of middle men making sales. But it seems to become more prevalent nowadays... Sigh

  21. many decades ago I learned that if you cannot buy at your price and term you like. Walk Away. If you keep your cash something else will always turn up. And I already have too much hoarded stuff anyhow.

Had a private seller try to pull that "processing fee" shit on me once. Told him he was lucky I only looked like a cop and got back in my car and left.

Just got back from the nursery, picking up some bushes the wife bought, along with bags of topsoil for the raised beds. Mother comes first today. I did scrounge up an old model A stock intake and carb that a buddy came over and picked up.
