Put the windshield in my '27T. Gotta get to the DMV to see about a VIN number.

  4. Pulled the new Dewitts radiator I installed 2 weekends ago. Got the lower clamp cocked when installing the 1st time and she leaked. A C1 Corvette isn't as easy to change a radiator as you'd think.

Tried to head south to Red Deer for the spring swap meet.
Clear dry roads in the city quickly turned to ice and snow covered highway at Leduc.

Cars smashed into each other and rolled in the ditch.
The further south it got worse :(

Driving 40 mph or less didn’t appeal to me so I turned around and headed home. :(
So much for the swap meet.

Welcome to spring in Alberta :D
By next Friday we’ll be up to 20C again :D

I’m going out to clean up my garage and get ready for the next phase of wiring my RPU, the dash.

So my dad was driving his 56 Thunderbird Thursday a bam a hubcap flew off. He went back and searched and searched with no avail. He was really bummed. I went to the redneck rumble today and BAM found him 2 really cheap. It really made my day to see him smile when I brought them to him. And I also found a really nice hood top for my 34 pickup.

    2019 05 04 Flat tire.jpg
Munched up a tire out on I-10, Texas Canyon (between Willcox and Benson, AZ). I did not feel a thing at 75 MPH, just heard the wap-wap-wap noise. Got lucky and found a relatively flat spot at the end of the guardrail. I had all the right tools, so the tire change went well (at age 74, slow, but no problems). I do have AAA and a cell phone, but, not the patience to wait for AAA to come out that far.

NOTE: Truck is off-topic, but this view is a 1052 Bell Telephone System service bed.

fitted the rubber hood corners.purchased about 4 years ago, found and lost them plenty times.put them somewhere safe and couldn't locate them.well I finally fitted them today.the holes in the hood sides needed to be drilled out to 1/4 in so the arrow heads would fit in.

To install shallower oil pan I had to raise engine mount brackets to get new pan high enough to clear crossmember. So, also have to change pinion angle. Alter firewall a bit. This has turned into a bit more work than expected.

Took 1/2 day off & finally got to wrap up replacing my dad’s 55 hardtop’s 30yr old cracked & swollen fan Belts & hoses after throughly flushing & cleaning the cooling system 3 times. Last month was the entire fuel system & I mean everything from stem to stern is fresh. All steel tubing save only a few inches of rubber line to allow engine to frame movement. Went back with simple 2 line pump & rebuilt the carb too. Getting it road ready & next will be tires as they look new but are 15 years old, ohh & lastly all rubber brake hoses . As they say a ounce of prevention ......... Except it feels like 500 lbs ......... nobody wants to be the guy on the side of the road. Even though we all have. Flux

  25. I had an issue with my pricey stainless hard lines interfering with my pricey sideways linkage on my Henry J engine so today I spent a few hours bending, rebending, unbending, cussing, prying and configuring until it succumbed into place.

Ran down to the painter's and picked up some parts he was done with.

Stopped to check on the progress of the Trostle modified we're restoring, waiting on some parts to show up still. Talked cars

Stopped at my tranny guy's shop and confirmed the fluid I need. Talked cars.

Ordered a case of Type F tranny fluid at the parts store (they only had 2 bottles in stock).

Laid on my back on the floor under the coupe and sanded on the bottoms of the floors. Shot some hi build there after sanding. Filled some imperfections in the floor with kitty hair (glass body). Talked to the wife and she bitched me out for breathing dust, again.

Made a PCV line for the engine on the coupe.

    Slow day!

Wasted a couple of hours fabricating a carb stud. It functions okay but damn it's ugly. Got a good idea of how to make the next one..... BUY IT from a vendor!

I SWEAR I'm gonna seal up some leaks around the windshield and backglass today. Been putting it off too long and risking rain every day. It's only a stop gap anyway, but needs to get done to keep the interior more or less dry until I get new gaskets and a new windshield. Previous Owner decided all of the roof rail rubber was superfluous and yanked it out. Dumbass. Driving it next fall/winter is gonna be interesting.
