Event Coverage 49th Annual Fitchburg Swap Meet and Car Show - 2019

I didn't make it this year due to a family emergency. Hopefully, I will catch up with some of you in Epping!

 

I didn't get ant photos this year,Too busy filling my wallet!!!!
Only bought two things, how could I pass up a early Ford axle and wishbones for $ 5.00?

 

I did have a good talks with @nickthebandit @mike bowling @wheeldog57 @patmanta (I still contend your girlfriend must have lost a bet).

Spoke with @flash for a few minutes.

As well as meeting up with @Pete Flaven for some good rib busting.

Sorry I miss you @Cliff Ramsdell I would have liked to put a face with a name. Missed @Sporty45 twice as well.

 

Plenty of good deals to be had at the swap meets still. Mansfield swap at great woods is next, that one’s always good and I think the Kingpins will have vendors at their event on Sunday.

After perusing the swap meet lanes, a buddy and I wandered around the cars people brought out and I took some pictures, I even upgraded my phone a week or 2 ago so im only a few generations behind instead of 5 or 6, so they might not look like such dog shit. This one has a birthday at Fitchburg every year.

 

I was there also. A tiring trip up from Pa. Much fog on I-81 north to Scranton, rain all the way to Connecticut. because of the fog, we hit the Danbury Friday afternoon traffic. the traffic reminder signs said, exit 7, 6 miles, 25 minutes, exit 10, 10 miles, 30 minutes. In all, a normal 5 hour drive to Connecticut took 7 hours. Visited with friends and family Friday PM, and Saturday AM. Was at the Fitchburg gate at 5:40 AM Sunday. The meet was smaller than usual, But the most important thing for me was seeing all of my friends and associates. In reality, that is more important than the cars and parts, as more people are not well. or have passed away. Any way, I enjoyed myself , and I intend to do it again next year, if my health holds out. I am on kidney dialysis 3 days a week, so I am a little slower, and don't have the stamina that I used to have. I am 78 years old, and I am thankful that I am able to do what I can

This is a must attend event and probably deserves its own thread. Lots of off topic stuff but it’s huge a some of the best deals I’ve found have been there.

 

i went had a good time walking around , lots of cool stuff , id like to go to epping some time and see that swap

 

Epping was getting pretty big last time I was there. Plus, it's only about 20 minutes from me!

 

OK, which one of you sunzabitches got me sick Sunday? I've got the nastiest cold, flu, pneumonia, or creeping crud I've had in quite a while, and I'm blaming it on Fitchburg. Started Monday night and has gone up and down since. I woke up freezing my ass off this morning, but no temp, so that's good.See how this morning goes and maybe call the Dr's. later. Is it just me, or did anyone else get sick?

 

Just got back from the doctors office...it's the damn flu!!! I thought the flu season was over, but apparently not

I'm not sure if I'm hitting that one or not yet. Any chance I'll find a 28/29 Tudor subframe or lower quarters or Pickup body stuff there?

I think the next one for me is New England Dragway if the weather holds that weekend since it is also the kick off of Nostalgia Drags there too.

Here's the few pictures I snapped. I was too busy running around meeting up with folks and shopping to be a shutterbug. I was running around so much I hardly got a chance to say HI on the run to some of y'all! That girlfriend I have that lost that bet took some of the cars too, I'll pop them up hare later.

 

Thanks Wheeldog Doing a lot better now, but last Friday was rough. Ended up going to urgent care and got a chest xray. Got Pneumonia on top of the flu! Been a great week here On the mend now though, my wife and daughter have been nursing me along nicely. Actually went for a little drive today and got myself a coffee. I'll be back out in the garage soon!
