That '35 is a landmark... I put it there so you only see it for a second when you drive by... when I was a kid there was an oldie behind every barn... $400 a ton scrap metal sucked them up... so I PLANTED the '35 there... even planted a 3' tall maple tree behind the cab.... . .liked it, so I PLANTED some scraps that resemble a dead cabriolet...
Yeah I miss that... old cars behind every barn. $500 pickup trucks and the like. Growing up when we were in high school you could always find a truck to drive if you couldn't afford a car.

I wouldn't say cruel ... I live a quarter the way up the last road going out of town, turns to "washboard dirt" about halfway out... 29 households, not a ton of traffic.... In the last 35 years I have had a "shipload" of rusted out '28-'34 ford bodies [247] the locals don't even bother to look in the back yard when they pass anymore ...
No sticker but a quick ride on the main road... goes good... the C4 chirps 2nd gear rubber... inspection station stop Monday... yeh baby... only took 1 year longer than it should have ! . Bad back was reminding me of its presence, so I swapped from my '33 coupe body to a '30 A coupe... bought me 11" of headroom... august of 2017... june 2019...
I LOVE how much the rear horns poke out the back, did you have to shorten those or fab something? It sits really well. Edit: I went back and saw what you did. Neat work.
home made frame, made it 20 years ago , pair of model A front frame horns flipped upside down and welded to the kick down so they curl up to almost level... Dr.'s office stainless equipment adjustment tube as the spreader bar...
hey rodsports …. er... front what ? built 10 hot rods so far... '28 to '34 Fords ... never had a front fender on any of them... State of Maine, USA. doesn't require fenders, bumpers, also no hood/hood top if you run an electric fan, for you to get a sticker on a hotrod... we have it good ! … lucky us...
oh, cycle fenders... i like '35 ,'36 ford car spare covers or '49 ,'51 ford woody covers [wider]... I use the leading 15" of model A rear wishbones, cut out and bolt a 1/4" thick teardrop shaped flange to the side of the frame rail, trim and weld the big end of the wishbone to it, the wishbone's small end will give you something strong to weld the small piece to... cut off a 6" section of the spare tire cover to be used, trim along each side so it doesn't show too much when the fender is welded to it. weld the small cover section to the wishbone at the correct angles, make it strong, then weld the fender to it... I mount them sort of vertical and far enough behind the wheel so it does not touch when steering through a bump... I have had spindle mounted fenders vibrate themselves to death... I won't use cycle fenders for the coupe, but I have a '30 Sportster in the oven... . if you want to make rear cycle fenders by welding cover strips to each side of your cycle fender, then find different diameter spare covers as they must become smaller as you make the fender wider... last set I made was pre computer, sorry no pix. I have cut [2] 15" long '35, '36 covers about 1" beyond the beadwork, welded the wide sections together, makes them 2" wider and now with [2] beads... any pix Johnathan ?
Makes being a Mainiac cool ! added bobbed rear mud guards. they had been torn and gas welded years ago, I left them, didn't get much bodywork done on the mud guards...
