This is an interesting picture for my aunt and uncle live right down the street from this house. I would go for a visit every summer and hang out with my friends of that area. I don't remember these two vehicles but do remember watching these guys (maybe teenagers at the time) install some sort of an intake and carb set up that once installed, the hood would not shut. This was on a 55 to 57 Ford or something close. What they end up doing was to place a block of wood near the hood hinge thus raising the rear of the hood several inches thus clearing the intake and carb set up. Remember I was only 9 or 10 at the time.

 

That emblem looks more vertical than horizontal, the picture at the top of this post looks very different.
Also, looking at that ‘60 Australian Pontiac it must be on a Chevrolet frame, the wheels are deep in the fender wells, Pontiacs of that era were “Wide Track”. Did they put 389’s in Chevy frames for export?

One thing that always amazed me when visiting there, was the big ball that swung back & forth knocking wood pegs over as the earth rotated.

 

Anyone know who that guy grew up to be ?

All these great pictures, but none of the true landmark... the Brew 102 building right off of the freeway.

 

Definitely Mays. But could that be George Robson in the other #1? Maybe in 1946 at Langhorne?

In replying to a thread on Fordbarn I came across these detail pics of the 1935 Miller/Ford Indy cars. I'd never seen these before either. I had read that the steering box seized up, but didn't realise it was not a conventional ford type steering box.

The huge copper kettles from the city's oldest brewery -- kettles the employees used to fill with water and swim in when the week's batch of beer was done -- were abandoned. The building became an unofficial refuge for the homeless for 13 years. The pots and kettles that were not stolen were sold for scrap before the buildings were torn down in 1985 for a parking lot."

I remember the old 102 brewery well. Brew 102 was the first beer I ever had. I had driven by the place so many times while it was still there. It was sad to see it get torn down. I still have an old tin can of the brew and it hasn't leaked. I think "6 for 99 cents" is on the can. My dad used to buy the beer right from the brewery. He said the ones he got were at a discount because they were not totally full or something like that.

 

This one can't be unseen.
