Good lookin’ Comet. It’s a FX for sure but there were a few post ‘65 body Cars like Novas and falcons ,etc. running in the gas class . Most people call everything with a jacked up stance a Gasser anyway so just enjoy and keep on popping wheelies

That is a Gasser and a great representation of How a sixties Street /strip ‘56 Gasser looked . At least here in So Cal

    That’s a Badass truck!!
I may as well post a shot of my ‘59 Apache daily driver . It’s Not fast but is does have a lumpy 301 , Muncie and fenderwell tri-Y headers and the Gasser attitude.[IMG]

I guess I’m late here on this Gasser thread. Most of you have already seen my car so for those of you that have not here goes. It’s a ‘46 Chevy Sedan Delivery
Originally built in So. Cal as a street /Strip Gasser way back in ‘65. I have owned it twice since 1969. I sold it in late ‘71 and bought it back again in ‘85. It’s been an on going project since finishing in ‘03 and I’m always tinkering and improving it even as I write this post. I do race it at special events and drive to the strip. It’s a 12 to 1 396 SBC, with
a Magnesium case T-101A straight cut gear dog ring NASCAR 4 Speed , ‘57 Pontiac 5.13 reared with 35 spline axles. 4 wheel vintage Airheart disc brakes stop the beast. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  10. That transmission is badass. Just looked it up, Quicksilvers' is a side shift, so it resembles a Muncie, only much stronger. G Force is a company here in PA that makes them for NASCAR builders.

To me nothing the coolers part is the simple looking small block with Corvette valve covers and that awesome M/T cross ram.
    Excellent Hot Rod

Slowly collecting parts to go back as it was. Hilborn injected 427. Just bought a complete clutch turbo 400. And yes, it will be ran locally on the street.

It wasn't mine, but I had the pleasure of restoring it for Tom Willford and racing it a couple of times. Tom insisted I install hand controls so he could race it, and he did for about 5 years. In 2016 the current owners Jeff & Jerry brought it to CHHR in Bakersfield, and ran 8.18 and backed it up with 8.17. Not bad for a Gasser built in 1965 ! 2012-08-31 140633.jpg Willys Bizio Marty a.jpg Willys Bizio.jpg Bizio Pride and Joy.jpg Bizio @ Bakersfield 2016 #3.jpg

I always loved that truck. Marty, I was not aware that you drove it at one time. Good on you.

  17. Ok, yes it has taken far too long but in my defense I have survived Cancer, got hit by a car on my bicycle and just recently had a bad car accident. Plus yesterday I had food poisoning. So, I've had some troubles. But, I keep going.
