What on earth is that engine? Two-stroke three? Flathead three? V-6 (doubtful)?

    Weird.

Edit: I did my homework and discovered that the prototype was built on a Fiat Topolino chassis. In other words, the parts that they ripped out to make a Fiat Altered.

I think it is a DKW two stroke three cylinder engine. Popular in D/SR cars running SCCA many years ago.

Had a friend that worked at a Caddy dealership back in the late 60's into the 70's in Walnut Creek CA. He had a regular customer that would come in every year and buy a new factory limo, (that's when you could buy a new car every year and not lose your ass) triple black, radio delete, and trade in last years limo. My Buddy asked him if he had a limo service, the guy said no, he had way to many kids and he put them in the back, and when he got tired of hearing all their shit, he put the divider window up so he didn't have to listen to them. We bought one of his cars from him years later, and it was in great shape. We drove it around for awhile, then sold it.

    67 stp turbine 6.jpg
As everyone on the HAMB knows, after the Granatelli turbine-car dominated and nearly won the 67 Indy 500, the USAC promptly set to work to handicap it enough to make it uncompetitive.
At the time, Andy G was reported to be considering replacing the turbine with a turbo-Ford V8 in the same 4WD chassis.
(On second thoughts, that doesn't sound right. Must have been Novi V8, as the turbo Ford didn't exist in 67)
I am fairly certain this never happened, but was wondering whether an “artist’s impression” or sketch layout had ever been published. Anyone ever see one?

And a couple more. Toluca, IL 1963:

This is sort of Chicago's version of Bugsy. Mob figure Manny Skar had this place built along with the even more elaborate Sahara Inn North, which had a nightclub hosting A-list entertainers, but the Feds were quickly on his trail. Money was hemmoraging, there was a well publicized drug bust and some goodfellas roughed up Bobby Darin when he cut his show short because they were causing a ruckus. Not only was the place shut down, but the bank that financed the place was seized as well. Manny was rubbed out in September 1966 as he stepped out of his Pontiac convertible behind his Lake Shore Drive apartment building; surprisingly this motel still stands.

Right here in funky California, there is a tribute to butter and eggs, right in time for the Spring Break/Easter Vacation days.

“The original parade ended in 1926, but was resurrected in 1982 by the Petaluma Downtown Association who renamed it Butter and Egg Days to highlight the dairy industry's connection to the town. To this day, the good eggs in Petaluma can be seen in their finest fluffery, celebrating their historical roots.”

    Who knew?
