I went to look at a 52 F100 he had for sale but ended up talking him into pricing this 33. It’s an original paint and upholstery 1933 Ford “B” Tudor and I was able to drive it home! This car was purchased new August 4, 1933 in Greenfield, Indiana for $540 by a Mr. and Mrs. Ostermeyer, Mr. Ostermeyer passed away shortly after 1933 and Mrs. Ostermeyer continued to drive the car until her passing in November 1958. On June 13, 1959 their estate was sold at public auction and the car was purchased by Frank A. Cecil, Finly, IN for $355 and it was this new owner that fully documented everything about the car in story form up until August 27, 1984 where the car was taken out of storage and cleaned up and pushed back in. There’s so much cool information in the book and the tablet that was in the dash. In the 90’s Mr. Roland purchased the car from a former bass player for Bill Munroe, the car still had the original 4 cylinder engine in it and was completely original. The engine was so weak Mr. Roland replaced it with a hopped up Flathead V8 and a newly built transmission from a 39 Ford, installed Lincoln juice brakes, replaced the wire wheels with steel wheels, and installed a new wiring harness to make the car more drivable. It’s so hard to find anything from 1932-1934, but to find an original paint car with such a story is a once in a lifetime find for me. I plan on putting a set of wires and Firestone’s on it, getting the stance right, possibly a correct wiring harness, and a new floor mat then enjoy it. That takes "finding a survivor" to a whole new level. Congrats. I can't imagine there be too many more out there like that still in hiding. Lynn
The story is almost as nice as having the car, I love reading through it! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I see nothing on that car that I would change.. maybe just clean up the wiring and a new floor mat. Great score!
I can’t believe that you washed it without asking for advice first ..... Anyway, - beautiful car, enjoy it, and make the changes that you want. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like that car has had a perfect cast of caretakers from day one. Please post the photos with the wires. Bob
Great looking car, I look forward to seeing more of it as it progresses. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
One heck of serendipity getting that instead of the F-100 you went to check out. Buy some lotto tickets while luck is with you.
Wow, that´s and incredible car! Glad it found you...!You can´t just go buy a car like that... they find you. I had a similar experience a while ago with my 40 Coupe. Now go , have fun! Congratulations !
watch the movie Highwaymen on Netflix Kevin Kostner drives the twin to your car with the wires. neat car and neater story congrats Tom
I'm at a total loss for words! That's unusual for me........All of the superlatives have been already mentioned. That's like digging in the flower bed and finding a 2lb. gold nugget! Beautiful car, incredible story.
