There are certainly enough clamps on the fuel lines. And that's an interesting carburetor setup although I can identify just what it is. Is that Floyd Roberts on the left?

Yes that's Roberts and the other fellow is Ed Winfield and they are checking out his carbs on the Burd Piston Ring Spl. circa 1936.

I wonder if that's what they call morning wood?

 

Now that I think about they were still limited on fuel for the 500 miles in 1936 so the carb setup was as much about mileage as it was about speed.
