Art & Inspiration Did you drive your hot rod or custom this weekend?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Mar 31, 2019.

  1. I spent Saturday and Sunday helping Dave with the interior on my old beater but I still have another hot rod to drive while the Deuce is out of commission.

The weather was nice and the sun was shining for a change.

Did you get out and about this weekend? HRP

Beautiful weather Saturday but Did not as there’s still salt on the road from a recent snow squall. Did get one out quickly 61AF6188-D5F0-4686-951A-D4AD713D39B7.jpeg last week. Have to admit I’m getting itchy to be out there on a regular basis.

It wasn't too bad here this afternoon. I started the drive with the top down, but the air was a little too cold, so put the top up pretty quickly. It was nice to be able to drive my car again.

Yes, because it's my primary car for now. Late yesterday went to the University farm area with the 32. Warmest day of 2019, so lots of tourists & students walking, jogging, biking, etc. A 21 yr old Engineering student graduating next month, talked with me for an hour. We met only because he stopped with his mountain bike and asked what year the car was. He said he's seen the car around UConn in the past.

Born in the Ukraine, he came to USA at age 9. He already has a job with an Aeronautical company since 8 months ago, and it is part of the United Technologies mega corporation. I learned a lot... about a lot. :) I go to scenic recreation places as I meet " friendly people who like living life", ... like being outdoors on a nice day.

I did not take a pic of where I parked yesterday, but just found this one from April 2018. I parked at that same exact crooked angle, in the exact same 3rd parking spot yesterday. Spooky or what?o_O

  12. Got up to 75 degrees Saturday, perfect day for my friend's annual garage party. 130 mile round trip. Scott Myers images......... IMG_1490.jpg IMG_1493.jpg IMG_1515.jpg

Drove the p/u to coffee and a couple of yard sales this weekend but with the weather in SoCal I drive it almost everyday except when its raining (which it did actually do this year)

No. But I did get the helicoil in this hole, and most of the top of the engine back together.

Yes, got up to 60 today. Fired up the coupe and drove to town and back. Still a lot of snow in drifts and piles but the roads are clear and dry. Did a drive by my friends to see if he would get his 55 out but no response.

  27. 30 Degrees and snowing here. I think not until the salt is all washed away.

Put about 70 miles on the coupe the last few days. Highs were only in the upper 30s or low 40s.
Still sorting out bugs on the 39 Dodge pickup, but have run a tank of gas through it the last couple weeks. Still having issues with the speedo, so its not much fun guessing how fast your driving. Gene

  30. I had a little trouble with my speedo but.....ah, nevermind
