Technical jeep cherokee power steering conversion to 1955-56 ford

Help, Help...jeep steering box is in, what pitman arm is available to use?

 

What's the spline/diameter on the box?

 

Do you really think there is one that will just bolt right in place?

It is Post # 6 on the link above. He used the Jeep Pitman Arm with modifiactions.

If you not a member of the 52-59 social group you should join. There is a lot of info over there.

 

Nope....being an old hot rodder sharing info was how we built our stuff... Followed mark t of PA, on the Journal, on the swap, everything was right on, except no "direction"
to go for pitman arm!!!

You're probably getting that message because you're not a member of the 'group'...

 

Thanks jimmy six... 1.25 dia, 32total spline, 4 segments...Delphi 2605 76 28, 1999 jeep grand cherokee. Mark T of PA posted the conversion, followed his info, worked perfect, except pitman arm. I know I have to do some persuasion with my rosebud to reconfigure, just like to start somewhere!!

 

It's been so many years since i tackled that project. But i think you can use the old pitman arm with some minor alterations to it.
