Finishing my 60Starliner. I’m thinking maybe stock wheels and poverty caps with white walls. Maybe torq thrust style wheels. Let’s hear from HAMB nation.... BCFADF14-526E-432F-AEBC-0F1614882D33.jpeg

I like dog dish caps but of the two like the torque thrust wheels better.
As fancy as the car is Supreme wheels would look great, ww or not.

Kinda depends on the look you're after. Chrome reverse =laid back cruiser. Torque Trusts = Hot Rod/street performance. Painted steel/poverty caps (wider in rear) =Factory lightweight racer.

I like the chrome Supreme 5 spokes, or the chrome reverse with spider caps. Just my 2 cents

  12. They were overdone to death on other cars, but a buddy had 'em his white Starliner back then and I'll forever picture the 'ideal' as his.... Cragar SS, and in the original 14" size, with blackwalls.

Cool: 60 Starliner with Chrome Reverse
Cooler: 60 Starliner with Chrome Reverse and '60 Ford dog dish caps
Coolest: 60 Starliner with Chrome Reverse, '60 Ford dog dish caps with 3 bar spinners

Didn't "Jimmy Shine"s wife in Hollywood Knights, have a Starliner, jacked up with mags?

  16. Yep....and I’m sure fiasco out the tune on it
60 / 61 GM and Ford were both on their games...

  17. This is one of those cars that divides camps...your either a drag race/street race guy or a lower it, chrome reverse wheels and whitewalls guy..probabaly also had to do with the lady’s ya pulled too..the tougher ones wanted the bad boy racer....the refined ones liked the mild Kustom...
How about a bad ass 390, 4 speeed car with chrome reverse wheels, whitewalls , fender dumps, and a lowered stance...I say ya buy 2 of em

  18. Torque Thrusts like above (post 16) is the absolute best pick.
It's the first thing a kid would do with a cool 3-4
year old used car, back in the early '60s.
Personally I like one size bigger in rear than front!
    My $.02!

Yes and it was killer - was in Popular Hot Rodding early '80s, think it had a tunnel port FE.

My 2 pennies: stock wheels with your choice of fancy mid-50s hubcaps. Dodge Lancer, Olds Fiesta etc.

In 1960 one of the local "older guys" bought a new 60 Starliner, the 360 horse version, my vision of the Starliner is a performance car not a custom (my opinion:) and should have Torque Thrusts. I guess I am not much of a custom fan and that colors my view.

The stock 1960 Ford small caps were the finest ever made by Ford with more stolen back then than any other cap. I'd drop the nose a bit and go with stock colored rims with them. Another period correct style then would be narrow or wide whites, black rims and the same small caps...60 Star's were and still are one of my favorite Fords..

I had Torq Thrust as well as poverty caps on my 61.
Personally I see too many Torq Thrust in the last few years.
I would go with either Radir with the rib down the middle, which is a period correct wheel , or Im thinking about salt flats style with the grey center and the oval/kidney bean type of slots
