I scored these cool headlights. Anyone know what they are off of so I can get a new trim bezel and headlight
Fittin the doors is such a task. I finally got my the drivers side , I’ll post pic later but it was tuff. The passenger is more of a pain cuz there’s a dent in the body
You can hardly see the dent to the left. Above the middle door hinge, The door bumps into it and doesn’t close without force. I cant show on photo but running your finger don’t the door jamb you can feel the bump. Should I grind or hammer? Or let the body man handle it?
The part that bulges forward blocking the door will disappear when the body man removes the dent. Don't make his job harder by messing with it now.
That’s my idea also. I’m glad I heard it from someone else. Plus I don’t want to make his job harder by grinding it down and making it worse.
Another cool score was a truck support off a 66 67 corvette. I love the mechanics because it holds on its own and self releases when you lower the lid.
And I’m still going with the tank and battery in trunk...........any protest or you guys lookin for my demise hahaha

@Omarsvette I have a pic of a period vintage showing an option for your in trunk filling situation...you know the saying pics or it didn't happen...and heck it doesn't even look to bad...probably a hole, a vintage rubber gasket and a vintage cap some crafty pipework and Bob's your Uncle... The position in the pic looks forward of your tank position which is aft but you could elbow it over to a chosen location. Ok stogy you got my brain workin. I love what you showed my. I think it’s very original. How about a lemans cap? I’m thinking a higher position, next to my lower trunk support bracket, closer to the roof edge, where it’s flat?
Its actually quite common in that tulip panel or adjacent quarter area...and it looks great to...but I wasn't sure that you were open to that...that's an option too...on my 29 sport coupe it's on the top quarter...the inner bracing is there just to make location more challenging.
That gas cap up high next to the top of the trunk line. It’s flat there and plenty of space. And like you said I’d have to fab some elbow pipe. pvc?

Yeah man it’s a great idea. Thanks a lot. I’m workin on the tail lights now then I’m going to set up the tank. Then I’ll get that gas cap. I think it will look very cool/aggressive.
Haha very funny. I read your comment early at work and I started googling it. I have used a similar style on corvettes but they are wider. So I was happy to see a smaller one. The idea of making a hole on the side and using a corvette lid with the cross flags crossed my mind, but I like these lemans style caps.
I’m going to keep the tank in that position. I cant move it up more. I can go higher. I thought about cutting the filler tube and moving it around but I’m sure I can get a elbow.
Not sure what hose will do...perhaps fuel grade rubber hose is available...But yeah molded hose might make life easier but is it fuel approved...some stuff you just want to know your safe. I will say I can't fill fast due to angle and bends... Actually alot of vintage cars probably use molded gas tank hose that look like rad hoses...
Here is that cap installed on mine...again be careful where you position it as there is inner bracing in that location. Mine is radically cut but I live with it.

Very cool stogy!!!!i like what you did. That’s also were i was thinking of placing mine. I will take inconsideration what you said about the height of the tank. After looking at my tank and how the filler neck tilts to the left, it might be better to make a side filler. We will see.
There’s something really daunting about drilling holes... but I think it works out. Hole punch, template etc.
One more thing before I get into the gas tank, license plate. This is my plan. Look right? It won’t sit against the body, floating
