    March 15-17.
A little over two weeks away, who has a car entered, who's going to spectate?
Post your photos here, if possible, a display board shot to match car, or just include owners name if you know it.

I'm going if I don't screw up and forget what weekend it is. We might farm the dogs out and make a weekend of it.

Sorry I missed your thread here @DDDenny, must hast have been lying around working on my tan.
I'm going. The car is mostly done haven been driven a bit before winter came. Working on completing the 20X20 display which is harder than you think if never tried doing it before.

Set up is Wednesday and I enlisted the boys from the local watering hole to lend a hand.

  4. CJ and I wont have a car in the show this year, but I will be at the show all weekend as a volunteer. Hope to be able to meet some of you at the show this year. It will be nice to just be a spectator this year. Will have something in the show next year, either their 55 Chevy they have had forever or if I can get my 68 C10 done by then.

  5. I hear ya on the 20x20 difficulties. It was quite an ordeal building Taboo's and then actually assembling it for the first time. now its second hand after 10+ shows using it.

I built 4 tire stands to hold up the car. I made them from aluminum plates, aluminum rods and pistons. A lot of polishing, drilling, and measuring produced 4 cool stands.

While I as at it I built another 12 stands out the same materials to hold a perimeter railing made from 2.25" SS exhaust and some mandrel bent corners.

The caps unbolt to install the railing and all of the joints occur inside the rod cap area (there are internal pipes turned down to fit inside the exhaust pipes to secure the joints in case someone decides to stand on them).

To each stand I attached a 7 watt LED spot light to illuminate things. All of this sits of four 10x10 black carpet squares allowing the booth to reconfigure easily to 10x10 or 10x20 as well as my 20X20 original design.

Wiring is all cloth covered matching the job I did on the car. I have mirrored acrylic being cut and formed right now and the show sign should be finished tonight.

  7. Very nice, cant wait to see it at the show! That should defiantly take a display award from the ISCA. We designed ours to do the same for going smaller spots as well. From all the shows with our display, would not worry about anyone standing on it, even kids, the biggest issue it people kicking the stanchions or a kid grabbing and yanking on the rails. Also with ours is also kids sitting on them. The stanchions are pyramid shaped with a flat top, so kids like to sit on them.

I am about ready to hit the show. Spent the weekend touching up a few things, had the car striped, fixed a couple of items on the trunk...I'm satisfied. Todays I have to get a couple of mirrors and do a final assembly on the perimeter frame to make sure it actually goes together correctly. fun, fun, fun Move in is Wednesday morning at 8:00 so load the trailer tomorrow night. See you there.

  12. Set Up day! Miss Taboo in some pretty good company in the Kavalcade of Kustoms. Parked next to the Jade Idol. The X-51 is making a appearance. Some other great customs in attendance as well.

That alone will make the road trip worth it.

I was there at 8:00 with a crew of 5. We walked out at 11:00ish and called it a day. We were pretty well prepared, the carpet takes a while to tape down (there are 4 pieces). I was of no help at all so I'm fortunate to have a lot of friends.

  21. That seems about right, a little faster when we set up the full display for Taboo, but then its just 2-3 of us. We got there around 9:30 and didnt leave till past 6pm. It was a lot of hurry up and wait with John on getting the cars placed in his display.

Your car looks great! II was back up there for a bit this morning and took advantage of a quick walk about. Miss Taboo is in awesome company in the Cavalcade of Customs but she stands just as tall. It is a real privilege this year to see so many renown cars at the PRS.

  23. Got to glance at your roadster as we ran around a little bit yesterday and is looked great, also your display looked amazing. It really sets the car off, I cant see how that wont win a display award on Sunday.

I was really shocked to see so many big name customs come out of the woodwork for the show. Since we were called on Saturday to bring the 56, my grandfather and I though we were just needed to be filler, not be one of the prominent feature cars. I would have never imagined having Taboo parked next to the Jade Idol and near the X-51.

This piece of Oregon history will be on display in "under re-construction" form. I just got it out of the chassis fixture, and rolling yesterday. The owner is Tom, stop and say hello, he is a great guy. Puritan 2.jpg IMG_2783.JPG IMG_2805.JPG
