    Don't know the make or model, but appears to be a big, powerful and probably expensive (when new) car, rebuilt for a different purpose at some later stage. Two similar cases in the last fortnight or so.
    In a way, you might say that this was a "hot rod", as it probably took the same skills and the same creative mind to execute. Anyway, I salute the builders.

  10. The Mars Express - 1934 teardrop rocket car created by Peter Vacca of Buffalo, New York. Used as a promotional vehicle it boasted a gasoline powered supercharged Ford V-8 engine. Vacca had hoped to bring the added rocket engines into play to boost the speed to 115 mph. Instead, Mars Express remained a touring curiosity - from 1939-1942 it toured with the Russell Brothers Circus. Its ultimate fate is unknown.
