Are you planning on different gauges down the road? Otherwise why not just hole saw your dash? JMO

32B5590B-A561-4959-8CCC-9D522F094BE3.jpeg If you look closely, the only part of the dash I have in place is the top edge for looks. The aluminum you see isn’t part of the dash, it’s the firewall. Where the engine is moved back 9”, the firewall is only 3” in front of the face of the dash. That’s why i couldn’t hold saw the dash for gauges. It’s really the back side of the firewall, and the gauge would stick through into the engine compartment and look really bad. But 2 gauges and a Tach is all I’m going to have.

Made up the switch panel, and got it installed, along with the hot wires ran to it from the battery. Also mounted the master disconnect switch and charging lug, hidden under the car as to not take away from the period correct look.

Fan works, water pump works, and the lights work. I have to run the main hot wire from the battery to the starter, and the ignition and tach wires to the distributer, and all the wiring is pretty much finished.

One side is done, other side is cut, just needs file fitted, and we’ll have side windows in tonight.

How the heck do you boys get so much done in such short time?? Independently wealthy? Lol. I’m very jealous I wish I had the time to spend on cars that I used to. Car looks great!!! Love the green/white top combo. Mega props for saving that body too, next stop for that thing was the crusher! You and your pops both, your efforts and craftsmanship are remarkable.

The fuel system is done, few small things left to do to the wiring, but it’s really close to being ready to run.

Zak, you and your dad have built another fine car. I hope dad gets in some test runs before the first race.

He’s running the 57 with a Small block in it in C gas, and I’m running the new 55 in A with the big block. He wanted to trade cars, and put the big block in the 55 so I’d be in A gas.

Just keep them both off the wall and off their roofs! 55 almost looks like a street car with the stance and paint. Can't wait to some some videos. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

The 55 is gonna end up about 650lb lighter than the 57 was with the big block, so it should fly!

That car is definitely a tough one, and Jeff is a good driver. I look forward to moving up to A and running him for sure.

Travis Raleigh knocked it out of the park as always. Ron Pope Motorsports and gasser Straight Axles has come aboard as a sponsor for me this season to help us run for the A/gas championship.

Got the 55 rolled Outside today to fire it up for the first time. Had to snap a few pics of it outside. Really like how it looks out in sunlight.

  25. Lotta SEGA guys (in my opinion) downgrade an otherwise nice looking car with too much writing, stickers, etc plastered all over them. Yours looks super nice as it is and the stuff on the trunk lid is perfect. Maybe you could be allowed to paint A/G on it.

Here’s the link to my video on Facebook, I can’t upload it on here for some reason. It’s set to public though so even if you don’t have a Facebook profile you should still be able to watch it.
