Thank you all! I appreciate it, and I'm sure my dad does too (he's a lurker!). It's funny, the car is so pretty and striking that it's like having a different car. Can't wait to get it back on the streets.

  9. Aside from some mentioned previous quarter damage, and just some regular panel alignment/fit, did the car need much body work/repair? It must be nice using a car that didn't need years of rust repair :D

  10. WOW! That paint came out beautiful, that car is really going to pop when all the chrome and stainless is back on it.

  11. I thought my '60 Plymouth Fury looked like a jet, but those Chrysler fins take the prize. That's a beautiful ride you got there.

  12. Beautiful job, the only thing I'd take issue with is the color choice for the roof/side spear. I think I'd have used something with more 'pop' than the gray you used. The pale gold you show in the photoshop avatar pic would be nice, but seeing how it's a custom, something a bit over the top like a silver or gold metalflake would have been my choice.

Just my opinion, it's still beautiful!

Considering it's over 60 years old, it really didn't require a lot of repairs. Like you mentioned, the driver's quarter had some previous collision repair work. The passenger fender had a subtle bow to it, like maybe the wheel took a hard hit on a curb during a turn. Other than that it just had a few minor dings, mostly on the rockers. It is still wearing all its original sheet metal, except the hood, and we could have used that; we just decided to use the parts car's hood to experiment with the scoop. We didn't do any rust repair except digging out some crust around the rear window channel. I've seen a lot of these cars go into rust-repair purgatory and I was happy to avoid it.
Man, the '60 Plymouth has some pretty crazy fins too! Thank you.

What can I say, I like 'em boring. ;)

There's an old saying, "If it's perfect, paint it black". Goes to show what a good job was done on the hood graft.

Geepers!!! That thing is so good that you'll have to take care with your surroundings when you take photos.....in one photo I thought there was a bow in the rear quarter.....but it was actually a deviation of the photographer blocking the sunset....Awesome!!!!!

All the stainless is on the car. Working on the interior. Hopefully the chrome comes back this week, because I'm ready to see this thing with its bumpers back on!

I have a set on the wagon parked next to it, lol.

Small note - the wire wheels used by Chrysler products were not made by Kelsey Hayes; they were made by Motor Wheel Company.
