Your 27-T wouldn't happen to have been this one was it ....steal body , double tube old shortened dragster frame...most noticable feature was the chopped off cowl...when I sold it it had a 390 in it instead of the 427..I sold it in about 83-84 it was originally built in the Seattle area in 74 by two hi school buddies it spent some time in California..one of the guys moved there for awhile took car with him..came back to Washington ended up in Oregon when I got it last I know it was in a garage in Hillsboro/Aloha Beaverton Oregon for sale ...that was early to mid 90's.....original owner/builder would like to find it...Thanks

That J-6 is probably sitting on a 58 Vette chassis. A lot of the Glass aftermarket bodies got set on Corvette or other sports car chassis after the original body work was destroyed in a wreck. Great looking rig but 14 K might be pushing the limit.

If it's coming to Oregon it will be in good company, this one was built here many years ago. Twin turbos, Hilborn Injection, on a small block, all home brewed. IMG_4513.JPG IMG_4515.JPG IMG_4516.JPG

That's a very cool one Marty...they have always been one of my favorites..mostly because of its similarity to the Cheetahs and that is my all time wet dream car....I first got hooked on that body style watching my dad race his cars at the old slot car tracks he had a Cheetah car and some others that had the same shape...closest I have come to one is a 280 z....body shape anyways...the picture in the catalog you show there resembles a picture I have of a Astra J-5. ...in my Kellisons catalog the J-6 Panther is listed at $700.00. Times have changed......I like looking over the recommended parts list on these old things all the different components from several cars..and old ones at that....now days you just go buy a late model Corvette and take everything....anyways Marty ..till best time.. 20190301_192436.jpeg 20190301_192505.jpeg 20190301_194103.jpeg 20190301_192544.jpeg 20190301_193026.jpeg 20190301_192853.jpeg 20190301_201503.jpeg 20190301_192839.jpeg 20190301_192822.jpeg 20190301_192805.jpeg

Why hasn't anybody with one of these bodies poped a mold off of it and started selling them?

Those and the Devins weren't like the kit car bodies you see now though. they were just the bare shell with no floor no firewall or other things and they weren't all that expensive new.
I can't remember what but the Kellison was set up to use production windows from some car at the time.
I had a Devin body that had never been mounted back years ago and sold it to a friend of mine who just about finally has it finished.

  24. 50. s Studebaker windows, built a J5 in the early 60's with a close friend, they had a custom frame that used 49 to 54 Chevy front cross member and suspension that bolted to the chassis with Chevy mounting points, made a fast good handling car.

In my recent retirement I’m wanting to build something I can run at races like the HAMB Drags and now defunct Meltdowns that thing just really caught my attention!

  27. Just got back, went through the museum, they didn't get it, in fact they don't restore the cars that are in there.

Most of the cars in the Museum are on loan to them by their owners.
