Body mods must be approved through the SEGA. A 32 header would probably be ok, but i doubt i could get away with laying the post back, but regardless, that wont work now, bc my roll cage would hit before i got the windshield frame laid back at all

I don’t want to take away from your sedan, as I built a ‘30 sedan once. But, that ‘61 is killer. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one with carved-out quarter panels.
I really like your pedal pads for your clutch and brakes. And your trailing arms in back. All cool stuff! Thanks for posting.

 

SEGA will be featured on Discovery Channel 10PM Eastern, Wed the 27th, spread the word.

 

Considering the people involved in the build I'm betting this isn't going to be a problem.

Marty, you Need to see this for Real! TV will do until the racing season, but it must be experienced. The cars are the stars, but the people make it Great. Banger, Gabe also posted updates on FBook. Come on Wednesday night!

 

Like mentioned above, tune into discovery channel tomorrow night to check us out. Got the last few patch panels made tonight. Rear of the body has its mounts now as well. Stuck a mock bumper up there to try to get the full effect of what the competitors will be seeing all season.

 

Now that looks like a for real 60’s gasser. Love it, warts & all. Like the coffee cups holding up the bumper also - smile smile

 

I'm curious, are those fenders steel or fiberglass?

 

They are glass ones I scored off of Facebook marketplace, along with the nice original running boards and a few other parts

 

it’s gonna get paint, but it’ll be done by me in my garage or out in the driveway most likely

 

Not much of an update, but I got a good start on the wheel tubs. Making them out of flat sheet with squared off corners because I felt it fits the era a lot better.

Still putting in steady hours from 5:30 until about midnight and about 30 hrs each weekend. Can’t find the time to update this but here are a few from last week

This about gets it caught back up to real time. Not too far from painting the chassis and starting some body work

Been wide open on this thing still. Can’t remember to update the thread, but the fab work on the chassis is all but finished. Getting the last of the parts I need to finish this thing up as well. Having to do a remote water pump since I have the engine slid so far forward. Everything on the car has been built with ease of working on and maintaining it in mind. With a little luck I think it’ll make the season opener on April 13.

 

I've ben following along on the build from the beginning on Facebook Gabe and you know that I love it man.
All we need now is a '30 Coupe built for SEGA !

 

Still chipping along at this thing. Still praying it’ll be at the first race on April 13. The list of things to do keeps getting shorter. This is the end of the chassis fab pics. Next stop, the powdercoater. Big thanks to Quain for helping me get out of a time pinch so I could make the appointment I had with the powder coat place.

 

Anderson welding and powdercoat in Chesnee Sc did a great job on the powdercoat. Got me squeezed in and a 24 hr turn around time. Work looks spectacular as well.
