  4. I had one of those Ice Tappers, too. It was white. Hell, I may still have it somewhere.

  5. Some folks used a washcloth to hold the ice while whapping it in their hands (wimps), but the ice sticks to the washcloth. I use my bare hand to hold the cube and I have a big, honkin' ring on my finger. That helps smash the ice.

For some reason we had fresh mint around a few years back and wondered what to do with it.

Asked the internet and somebody suggested Mint Juleps. Simple syrup, bourbon, and crushed ice. Oh yeah and the mint. They are fucking tasty, here to tell ya. I didn't have one of them handy dingus right there.

Yup, Ice cube wacker. Just don't miss the cube & get your finger or thumb, esp when they're a bit numb after a doing a handful if ice. :D .

The back side of an old metal ice cream scoop works well to crush ice like that.

I saw a monkey on the little rascals with the organ grinder, but he had two of them. Ever tap spoons? Jeez do I have to figure everything out? 31 Dodger has the other one. :D Lippy

Noooo...good guess, but the ice crusher was in the kitchen. No self respecting mechanic would have such a thing in his toolbox unless he was an alcoholic, and there are VERY few mechanics who drink.
However! Every garage I've ever been to it's a popular tradition at lunchtime to make dimple cookies. Basically a standard sugar cookie, whacked skillfully in center with that instrument, filled with various jellies or axle grease.
Mix ingredients, placed in a hubcap on a hot manifold for 20 minutes and vi-ola! Atomic-Age-Dazey-Rocket-Ship-Ice-full-1-720_10.10-178-l-feecc8-ffffff.jpeg Lemon-Dimple-Cookies.jpeg

What's ice for? It just dilutes your whiskey.

I think Flippo used one of these to put his nose on and clean the ice off his windshield. Or was it Lippo? :DLippy flippo.jpg

If you remove the cup part. You can use it to remove headrests. 62-the 80`s. Just slide it down the front side.

Looks like it would be useful inside tight spots when contouring body panels.
