I've seen and commented on this car before Butch and I'm still scarred by it. I wouldn't even drink out of the same drinking fountain as that guy!
Sacrilege! Traction Bars, front and rear! Vehicle Description Formerly, this car was the world-famous "Shakey Puddin'." Now, it's "High Roller Double Nickle." This 1955 Chevrolet features hand-painted art that captures the '55 Gasser dominance of the '60s and '70s. It features a 383ci stroker small-block engine with Turbo automatic transmission, ladder traction bars front and rear and it is fitted with 2016 Pro-Gasser. This has bling to the nines and built for fun street-legal cruising. Custom artwork by the famous Joel Nelson. Wow .....and all that means what..?.you kind of bounced all around the main issue that caused Butch to so eloquently describe his apparent dislikes about the car....and that's them f` c b><;`:" wheels...if the guy was wanting to play the gasser game he just did what the rest of them are doing but what happened when he got to the wheels ...he must of stopped by his local discount tire and wheel warehouse and said give me what's hot with the kids .....of course that's excluding Hot Rod kids...they know better....and does custom art work by a famous person suppose to make it ok.... I will have to remember that one for if the day comes that I blunder something up on one of my cars ..and it will not be with wheels like that for sure ...but I did get my straight axle for my Studebaker from Speedway Motors and it's going to have Rudestude painted on it ...but no moon tank and it's going to be down low with cut rear quarters and a 10" engine set back and tunnel ram ...but I'm not calling it a gasser ... im going more for the ex-strip now blvd bruiser of the 70's image ...so Butch if you or any one else happens to dislike it ... I can just say hey "Picasso" did the lettering art work ...and that will make it all ok...right...just having fun...bottom line Ya them wheels make me want to puke too Butch.... This description is ABSOLUTELY APPALLING! This person should be hung-up by his-nut sack and be beaten with a baseball bat!!! Just my opinion, though...
The really sad part is apparently it worked, they sold the car. More of the story here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...akey-puddin-sells-at-barrett-jackson.1051301/
^^^^I'm pretty sure Shakey Puddin' was a POST car, not a hardtop (???)^^^^. Artistic license and a vivid imagination I am Butch/56sedandelivery..
good eye down south racer...had to replace and hard line most of it...12" limit for any length of rubber hose at the time...later worked the tech area at Detroit Dragway in its last years of operation. Gil still owned it , mother had passed, he had someone else manage it and it was a poorly run operation at the end...
When my dad was 15 or 16, (1965-1966) his older brother Jim had a friend Larry Lymangrover who had a 55 belair hardtop that he beat the firewall in with a sledge hammer too fit a 409, 409 and t 10 in. The car ran 4:88s Lary had a hard time keeping the front end down while running homemade cheater slicks. He hade the cheater slicks by running the car on jack stands and using a church key to groove them. Later he installed a set of shorty Hilborn injectors and sold the car to another friend , Mike. Unfortunately shortly after Mike got the car he mixed the old fuel tabs wrong and it belched in his face, causing 3rd degree burns on his face, neck and arms. No one is sure where the car went after that as it was sold while Mike was in the burn unit. Larry only paid $50.00 for the car in 64, then while stripping out the interior and trunk, found two 50 dollar bills taped inside the spare tire well. He actually made 50 dollars buying the car. I wish I could have been there. I've heard many stories about larry and his Ol Yellar. Another local guy ran a 55 with a 348 and 409 heads. Neither car had a straight axle, but used longer front springs or ball joint spacers.
Damn right! Cured instantly. These pics straight gave me a chub. Top one especially. Radiused thru the trim, Ansen top eliminators, and plain ol 55 Chevy wheels with wide whites. So refreshing. Coil spring front end too!! Makes me wish I hadn’t clipped the frame on my 56. God d——-t.
Thanks. The more guys who agree the less likely it is I’ll get banned for startin’ s—t with the guys who love these God forsaken wheels. Or we’ll all get banned.
That's a chance I'm willing to take! I know I'm still pretty new around here but, dammit, we need to stand for what we believe in!!!
Always love to see a 210 with 5 spokes!!! Thanks for the post Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
