Yeah, that's it! Had a hit with Big Bad John too posthumously.

Yeh, I know. He also wasn't able to stand before his last ride and had to be carried and put in the car. I just thought it was a cool shot.

A little work on the signs:

    Dragster/ Jerry Salt/Jim Frost/Findlay, Ohio
World's Lightest V8 Dragster... Club Project of Blanchard Valley...???
    And that brings us to:

A little more digging brought up this intriguing article in the Findlay paper. While it mentions the dragster, I'd REALLY like to see Jim Frost's '32 Studebaker with the eight-carb Chrysler!

For sure: sar-chasm - the giant gulf between the sarcastic comment and the person who doesn't get it.

    Many thanks Chrisb!
I could never have done whatever you did to enhance that pic, or to find the further references. Much appreciate your help.
That dragster really is innovative, and clearly it was built before March 1958. The earliest use of the engine as part of the chassis was the F1 Lancia D50 in 1954, but even that was only partly stressed, not so extensive as this one. Bright guys are everywhere, not just where they are expected to be.
I too would like to see that Chrysler engine: eight two-barrels, it says!

Another interesting dragster. The main part of the chassis frame appears to run between the two engines, though you can just see the lower tube which appears to be angled to pass outside the left crankcase.
Wonder where the inner exhaust pipes go.

Am I just getting into the middle of something or just mixing something up with something else...but I see comments on Hank Williams...then something about Big Bad John....then someone having breakfast with the sausage guy...but I can't find anything saying Jimmy Dean released Big Bad John in 1961...and yes he's the sausage guy....

I'm guessing his acting buddys called James Dean "Jimmy" but I doubt any of them are hanging around here.
