IMG_20181215_143459.jpg IMG_20181215_143450.jpg Here's a great piece of Hot Rodding history. This is an original address sheet that was hand written with all of the fastest times of some notable names in the late 1950's. It's an early document of the SCTA..

A friend of mine now owns the shoebox custom, beautiful car with an amazing amount of lead in it. Nothing on this car is light. It's being well taken care of. He has magazine articles to go along with it too.

IMG_20181231_162511.jpg Original 4X4 of a babe with a Kustom.. IMG_20190101_165744_1.jpg Another 8X10 of a legendary construction. IMG_20190101_165826_1.jpg This an original 8X10. It's one of the earliest known photos to exist with the Kustoms Of Los Angeles plaque under the License plate. It's pre-1955 if my memory serves me correctly. IMG_20181228_221514.jpg this is an old Advertisement proof from Rod & Custom Magazine it's late 1950's. This is the way that advertising was done pre fancy computers. IMG_20181228_221514.jpg IMG_20181210_190101.jpg another advertisement placement piece for Rod &Custom IMG_20181228_215933.jpg George Barris personal pass to the 1st annual in Ohio. I think this is 1957 IMG_20181210_183811.jpg an original Satan's Angels entry form for the club's 1st annual.. 1950's..

Really Awesome thread shaping up here @Germ. Thank you.

Question for you. You are a obviously a Historian and Collector of Historic Hotrod/Custom material...perhaps in part by living it as a form of career as well as a lifestyle. There was an earlier reference to a Barris association. Could you if you don't mind let us know about your life around some of these very iconic people and Hotrod/Customs you are sharing with us. Are you in any of these pics?

It's all before my time but I am forever grateful for you fellas sharing the best years of the past with us...here at the Hamb.

By the way how's the Project coming? It is a Merc is't it?

IMG_20190101_164913.jpg advertisement from the 1960's IMG_20181106_180151.jpg this is the actual shipping receipt for the James Dean death car..
It went missing in Florida.. I have spent 25 years of my life doing research on all of the people involved and all of the pieces to the puzzle..
This receipt shows that it was shipped to Arizona after the Tampa Florida Auto Show.. Feel free to research the dates..

IMG_20181106_180011.jpg read for yourself.. I was contacted by the Pickers clowns in regards to laying out all of the info that I have uncovered. I also know where the ambulance is rotting that hauled Dean's body.. It is in Napa California.

IMG_20181106_182649.jpg i purchased this original 8X10 from another collector and in it is proof that the wreckage was part of a safe driving campaign..
Very few of these photos exist. I also purchased the negatives to this photo.

I'm only 45 years old. I'm just a collector who was in the right place at the right time. As a younger dude we went on missions to meet our heroes. I researched the history on my own and when I was in the right state of mind I went out and met people. A bunch of this stuff was acquired by luck. George cleaned out the attic for two weekends and threw it all away.
A few of us youngsters scooped up what we could and spent years cataloging the items. The stuff I own from Von Dutch and Ed Roth was stuff I acquired from auctions and from private collectors. I also was on eBay from the beginning as a buyer... I'm not a big seller..
I don't need money. I have a lucrative career that allows me to be able to afford to buy some of the high dollar items..
Currently I'm traveling in my trade. My projects are on hold due to raising my two youngsters..

Thanks for sharing this...you are much younger than I imagined...doesn't make any difference of course as there is no age barrier with the interest in this incredible time in the Hotrod/Custom and again this continues to be a most interesting glimpse into the past.

This Roadster is a very incredibly stunning racer as you have alluded...these saw action on the Dry Lakes/Bonneville and the Drag Races...

Do you know the story on this one by chance? It looks to have a Nicely decorated 4 Banger in it...it's company in the background looks pretty awesome as well. Hamber Pete is working on one and it has some similarities but does not appear to be it. They were popular but at some point they canceled out these due to so many accidents at the track but they really looked and no doubt were quite a thing to witness in action.
