hahaha, I did cut grass with it one time after I rebuilt the engine but before I painted it and chromed everything! It has an open exhaust that exits in the deck. It is loud and sounds like you are mowing with a chainsaw!!

It will be worse next year when he adds the blower and switches to 68% nitro.

    haha, 90% nitro.....

  12. Reminds me of the Surfers top fuel team in the early 60s. College kids competed on a shoestring, reportedly ran 100% nitro because they couldn't afford to keep replacing broken hydrometers!!

He's younger than me, much better looking than me, and has cooler stuff than me...Shit:mad:

  15. I don't know how many have noticed but Mark has focused on one period in hot rod history in his collection. Late 50's to early 70's covers most of it. He is very accomplished with all aspects of building his stuff. He doesn't drive all of it but I believe he has run all of it at least once such as the go kart. I used to see him at car shows driving some of his cars. He still had time to go to work and have a career. The few times I've been around him have been very pleasant. We were able to talk about many subjects and smile a lot. Many people have collections and don't derive constant pleasure from being surrounded by their "stuff" I believe Mr. Moriarity is happy with his collection even though there is an occasional change. My world is split in several different aspects. I respect how he has managed this part of his world. :)

    Mark’s collection is his life.

His tool and die job is just a break from his life.

Yep - Mark and I go way back and I have fun bustin' em with him.
The pictures are awesome - I've been to his place and just hanging out amongst the "junk" is fun.

Still doesn't have any food in the house though.
The guy has been on a weight loss kick and no food will get you there.
Can't even bum a damn cracker for crine out loud.
A cup of coffee is standard fair.
    Good friend and fellow Mod.

Yup I was in my 20's when I changed this car from a no front bumper centerline wheel street machine to a traditional custom ... before being traditional was cool..... 551.JPG 552.jpeg 552.jpg

This is the only picture I have and luckily the wheels are turned so they don’t show 9DCA4D0D-9DFC-47B7-B243-7A3174558EB5.jpeg

    Passionate.
    Fully invested.
An exceptional purveyor of the art of the custom automobile.
An artist in his own right.
And I want to say, I think, having a special connection with each of his vehicles... like the opposite of a "flipper".

There is just something special about '55 hardtops with Corvette teeth.

Incredible collection in the hands of the right person.

But does anyone else find themselves asking "life questions" when seeing this thread?

It's like a mixture of absolute respect, where did I go wrong + painful envy and brotherhood all mixed into one.

    Cheers @Moriarity.
