Hot Rods Let's have our own 84th anniversary event for the 40 ford...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Moriarity, Feb 10, 2015.

  1. If I remember, Harvey put a Winters quick change under that thing, too. First thing I would do is replace that windshield. LOL

(I'll be posting the online entry form for the SWMO HRH soon.)

Here's a shot of your '40, during the 1st Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred, back in 2014, to bring it back on topic. LOL @cvstl took this photo.

It has a regular old banjo in it now...
The windshield and radial tires are on the chopping block.. as well as lowering the rear a bit to level out the stance. I’ll look forward to the HRH!

Hah! I don’t feel so bad now. When I was working on my ‘40 I took the bumper brackets off but left the rubbers on them. When I put them back on the car I paid no attention to ( didnt know) how they were supposed to be and they ended up upside down. A local 40 expert pointed it out to me. Color me embarrassed. I made a thin slice with a razor blade, inverted ‘em and glued them back together with my secret sauce.

Ringing in the new year with a clutch swap, due to some miscalculations when I selected the prior pressure plate. It seems the diaphragm fingers were too long and ground the throw out carrier and destroyed the bearing.

20190101_154031.jpg And this was after I took about 1/8 inch off before installing it.

Here is the 2nd pressure plate. Should resolve the issue.

You have it looking good, got pics of the "multi" carb set up too. I've got some miles in that old girl with Darrel, it's a neat 'ol car. Here's a pic of it in front of my house in Texas the day he bought it.

Wow great pic! Now I know why he fell in love with it and brought it home! Darrel and I put the Edmunds intake and Strimbergs on it right before Christmas. It was my Christmas gift to myself hehe

  20. The stance of Andy's '40 is absolutely one to try and emulate. I'm really digging your '40 coupe, and enjoyed the build thread.

Here's my buddy Richards old 40 coupe. He sold it a few years back I think it went to Massachusetts it was one of the few 40 coupes that I thought looked good chopped. Every time he looks at this picture he kicks himself for ever selling it. 50921771_2328467057165413_3002180318837866496_n.jpeg
