I found the cannon ball in the Manus River in Greenwich, Ct. at low tide along with a Model T Ford Front axle. At the time, that was 15+ years ago I asked collectors about it and was told they were often used as landscaping ornaments and some kids most likely had fun letting it roll down hill and into the river. I could have done that back in the day.:) Bob

Put a head light switch in a o/t car, there was no way to get it out like the shop manual says so I cheated. Its a rusty winter beater but have figured out a way to do it if it was a nicer car.

Cut down the air deflector that is supposed to go in front of the radiator in my sunliner,to get more room for a more aggressive fan I moved the radiator forward to the six cylinder position. I picked up a extra deflector last year and got tired of tripping over it plus I was bored so it got me out of the hose today.

Spent a few hours at the shop of Mr Merle Berg. I wish I could post pictures. Can't wait to see this one finished. Had a great talk, exchanged ideas, and learned a few things. With 59 years of customizing and restoring cars, school is in session when you visit. Always a pleasure.

I know it's overkill, but I have two 1.5 ton 1937 Dodges, so I need the trailer to be able to pull these trucks up...

I am adding USEFUL stake pockets, and putting in real stakes that I can put some plywood on. Everything will be painted black...

I might add, one of my winch holes is wanky, I have a dear friend that wanted to help. I squared up the winch "after" he drilled the holes. No biggy, it's a 1/4" piece of metal, stronger than the bolts going through it. It's a Harbor Freight 5000 Lbs. winch set up... Tomorrow I will wrap it up and build a battery tray for a Group 31 battery. That way the winch will have plenty of umph!!!

  19. On my 36 ford;
    • stopped a lower radiator hose leak
    • 3 spd tranny was stuck in between gears because shifter was inserted incorrectly, fixed that issue
    • installed new gasket between fuel pump and stand
    • moved car out of shop into the sun for a few hours to clean shop
Since it was a nice sunny day
    • weed eated the weeds and clover sprouting up in my yard around my house
    • mowed my 1.5 acre lot of weeds and clover in prep for our possible snow flurry's on tuesday!
    • pressure washed a few oil spots on my driveway

Took three generations to fill a dump truck with firewood. Son in law cut, I carried or rolled the chunks to the splitter, six year old Grandson was the lever guy on the splitter. Fun time!

The plastic liner between the leaf springs, that makes the springs slide on each other for a smoother ride, It came from Speedway Motors , made in China.

  25. Good diagnosis. You do not know the half of it. Today she scaled our couch without touching a thing. She goes from 0 to 100 in a flash. Hope I survive the Winter with Devil Dog!

    I will post yesterdays progress....

After welding in the stake pockets, I didn't like how then the edge was, and had concerns of them getting bumped and potentially dented so a stake wouldn't fit in the pocket. So I ground down the piece that I cut out originally to mount the pocket, and crudely welded it back in. Do to Kansas salt in winter, I rubber coated the pockets after the welding was completed. It isn't pretty, but it will work!!! LOL IMG_20190128_081941343.jpeg IMG_20190128_081951799.jpeg IMG_20190128_082004035.jpeg

I painted up some 1/2" plywood with Glidden exterior paint. My goal is to have a 4' X 8' box that is removable on the front of the trailer.

Today I am going to finalize the Winch installation.... IMG_20190128_100646416_HDR.jpeg IMG_20190128_082047194.jpeg IMG_20190128_082100795_HDR.jpeg IMG_20190128_100652991_HDR.jpeg
